Ripple has announced that Ripple Prime, its global multi-asset prime brokerage platform, has integrated with EDX Markets and EDXM International, giving institutional clients access to spot and perpetual futures liquidity for digital assets through a single prime brokerage framework.

The integration connects Ripple Prime clients to EDX Markets’ spot trading venue and EDXM International’s perpetual futures exchange. Ripple said the arrangement is designed to support capital efficiency, credit intermediation, net settlement and collateral management for institutions active in digital asset markets.

The move comes as institutional crypto trading continues to shift toward infrastructure that resembles traditional financial markets. EDX Markets operates with a non-conflicted model and focuses on deep liquidity, price discovery and operational standards used by professional trading firms.

Ripple Prime Adds EDX Spot and Futures Liquidity

Ripple Prime said the integration allows clients to trade digital assets across spot and perpetual futures markets while managing positions within a unified brokerage setup. The structure is aimed at reducing operational complexity caused by fragmented markets and multiple counterparties.

Michael Higgins, International CEO of Ripple Prime, said the company is building its prime brokerage offering by working with trading venues that connect traditional and digital markets. He said EDX provides the performance, reliability and market depth expected by institutional clients.

Tony Acuña-Rohter, CEO of EDX Markets, said institutions are seeking market infrastructure that combines traditional finance standards with digital asset efficiency. He said the partnership expands access to transparent liquidity across spot and perpetual futures markets through a scalable framework.

RLUSD Planned for Settlement and Collateral

The partnership also prepares the way for a future integration of Ripple USD, known as RLUSD, on EDX. Ripple said the U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin could be used as a settlement and collateral asset for institutional clients.

If added, RLUSD would allow clients to post and receive margin through a regulated dollar-pegged digital asset. Ripple said this would support cross-collateralization and margin efficiency across spot crypto and perpetual futures trading.

Stablecoin settlement has become an important area for institutional digital asset markets because it can reduce transfer delays and help firms manage collateral across trading venues. Ripple has been working to expand RLUSD use across its prime brokerage and institutional services.

XRP Collateral and Prime Brokerage Expansion

Ripple Prime has also been expanding its financing capacity. The platform recently secured a $200 million debt facility from Neuberger Specialty Finance to support institutional margin financing and prime brokerage services.

The funding gives Ripple Prime more capacity to serve clients seeking credit, collateral and trading support in digital asset markets. The company has said demand is rising from institutions that need services similar to those used in equities, foreign exchange and derivatives markets.

Ripple Prime has also started integrating XRP as eligible collateral alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum in institutional finance settings. Higgins said XRP is now being used as collateral within traditional finance structures, connecting digital assets with established market tools.

Ripple has also been working on tokenized asset settlement through pilot programs involving major financial and technology firms. The company said some real-world asset settlement activity has used the XRP Ledger, with transactions completed in under five seconds.

The EDX integration adds another layer to Ripple Prime’s institutional offering as the company seeks to support trading, financing, settlement and collateral services through one platform. The partnership gives clients access to EDX liquidity while keeping trade financing and collateral management within Ripple Prime’s framework.
