The investment centers on advanced packaging manufacturing and expanding strategic partnerships in a region that sits at the heart of the global chip supply chain.

AMD stock opened at $449.59 on Friday, up 6.10% on the day, and is trading close to its 52-week high of $469.21. The stock has climbed sharply from its 52-week low of $107.67.

CEO Lisa Su said AMD is asking partners to ramp production in response to strong AI demand. That signals the company expects shipment volumes to keep rising.
