Wealthsimple is setting up shop inside Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

The Canadian fintech has announced an exclusive three-year agreement with Nieuport Aviation, the terminal partner at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, making Wealthsimple the sole financial services partner in the airport’s transborder lounge.

The partnership launches with Something To Do, a limited-time pop-up running from June 1 to August 31, 2026, inside the transborder terminal.

The pop-up is designed to spotlight the Wealthsimple Visa Infinite+ and Visa Infinite Privilege credit cards, which offer two percent cash back on every purchase, no foreign exchange fees, no annual fee for qualifying clients, and travel perks including airport lounge passes, trip insurance, baggage insurance, and flight delay insurance.

Travellers will be able to sign up on-site, add the credit card to their digital wallet before takeoff, and begin earning two percent from their first purchase abroad.

“Something To Do is the kind of experience Wealthsimple believes in, one worth a client’s time, in a moment where the product actually matters,” said Paul Teshima, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer at Wealthsimple. “We aren’t interested in interrupting people’s day; we’re interested in earning a place in it. We’re proud to put the Wealthsimple credit card in the hands of Canadian travellers at one of the country’s most iconic gateways.”

The pop-up takes over the former transborder duty-free space and redesigns it in the look of the Wealthsimple credit card, with black metallic detailing, silver chrome, and warm wood touches throughout.

Inside, Wealthsimple experts will be on-site to help travellers sign up for a credit card and answer questions about Wealthsimple.

The space also includes several traveller-focused features from Canadian brands and artists, including a special print edition of Wealthsimple’s TLDR financial newsletter, curated travel playlists from the Polaris Music Prize, coffee from Pilot Coffee Roasters, bespoke furniture from Toronto’s East Room, and a custom Toronto streetscape mural by Canadian artist Jillian Tamaki.

Customers who pay with a Wealthsimple credit card at Pilot Coffee Roasters can receive 100 percent cash back on orders up to $10, subject to terms and conditions.

“Billy Bishop has always been defined by its unique location and a seamless traveller experience,” said Katie Battiston, Chief Financial Officer of Nieuport Aviation. “Partnering with Wealthsimple allows us to offer passengers a beautifully designed space that adds real value to their time and elevates the travel experience. We are thrilled to welcome Wealthsimple as our exclusive transborder financial services partner.”

The launch follows the recent opening of U.S. Customs and Border Protection preclearance at Billy Bishop and comes as the airport adds new U.S. routes to Boston, Chicago, Nashville, New York-LaGuardia, and Washington-Dulles.

For Wealthsimple, the airport partnership gives the company a direct way to put its credit card in front of travellers at the moment they may be thinking about foreign exchange fees, rewards, and travel benefits.

Founded in 2014, Wealthsimple serves more than four million Canadians and has approximately $125 billion in assets under administration as of March 31, 2026.
