The U.S.-Iran war could be close to ending as the U.S. prepares for peace talks with Iran. This comes as the Iran war enters its fourth week, while Trump has said that they are considering winding up their efforts in the Middle East as it relates to Iran.

U.S. Plans How Peace Talks In Iran War Could Look Like

According to an Axios report, the Trump administration has begun initial discussions on what peace talks with Iran may look like. A U.S. official and two persons familiar with the matter told Axios that Egypt, Qatar, and the U.K. have passed messages between the U.S. and Iran. Egypt and Qatar have reportedly informed the U.S. and Israel that Iran is interested in negotiating, but with very tough terms.

Iranian demands include a ceasefire, guarantees that the war will not resume, and compensation. On the other hand, the U.S. wants six commitments for the Iran war to end. They include that Iran won’t have a missile program for five years, zero uranium enrichment, no financing for proxies such as Hezbollah, alongside other conditions that aim to put controls on its nuclear weapon plans.

This development comes as the Iran war enters its fourth week, with the conflict shaking the global economy as oil prices rise to new highs. The U.S. has so far made several moves to curb the volatile oil prices, even as it ramps up attacks against Iran.

As CoinGape reported, the U.S. eased sanctions on Iranian oil as part of efforts to stabilize oil prices, which led to a crypto market recovery today. However, experts have warned that this move is unlikely to stabilize oil prices.

Trump Says U.S. Considering Winding Down Military Efforts

In a Truth Social post, U.S. President Donald Trump said that the U.S. is considering winding down military efforts in the Middle East, with respect to the Iran war. This came as he noted that they are close to achieving their objectives.

Trump stated that they have degraded Iranian missile capability and destroyed other military capabilities. The consideration to wind down military efforts marks a huge positive for crypto prices, which have faced pressure due to rising oil prices.

It is worth noting that a potential peace talk in the Iran war is likely to include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which has largely contributed to rising oil prices. The Strait, which is a major chokepoint for around 20% of the global oil supply, is effectively closed as Iran aims to use it to pressure the U.S. and Israel.
