MetaMask Reports Multi-Network Connectivity Disruption

BTCC

MetaMask users are facing connectivity problems across multiple networks after MetaMask Support said there is “currently a disruption to connectivity on multiple networks.”

The wallet’s support team said it is aware of the issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The initial notice did not name every affected network or confirm whether the disruption came from MetaMask infrastructure, RPC routing, a third-party provider or chain-specific endpoints.

The incident appears to affect access and connectivity rather than private keys or wallet ownership. Users may see failed wallet connections, delayed balance updates, dApp connection problems, transaction-loading issues or errors when switching between networks. A connectivity disruption can make a wallet look broken even when funds remain onchain and addresses are still visible through block explorers.

MetaMask remains one of the most widely used wallets for Ethereum, Layer 2 networks and EVM-compatible dApps. That makes even temporary connection problems visible across DeFi, NFTs, swaps, bridges and token dashboards, especially when users rely on MetaMask as their default browser or mobile wallet.

RPC Access Becomes The Pressure Point

Wallet outages often come down to the connection layer between the user interface and blockchains. MetaMask connects users to blockchain data through a blockchain host, with Infura configured as the default host for convenience. That host lets the wallet read balances, submit transactions and connect to networks without every user running their own node.

That structure is efficient, but it also means an RPC or provider-side problem can interrupt wallet activity even if the underlying blockchains are still producing blocks. MetaMask users can also troubleshoot Infura connectivity issues or use another blockchain provider where appropriate, although most ordinary users should avoid rushing into unfamiliar RPC settings during an active incident.

The safest first step is to check official updates, wait for confirmation and avoid repeated failed transactions. Users should not enter a Secret Recovery Phrase into any website, support form, bot, “validator” page or direct message. A wallet connection problem does not require seed-phrase recovery, and scammers often use outage moments to impersonate support accounts.

Disruption Lands During MetaMask Product Push

The outage comes during an active product period for MetaMask. The wallet recently expanded MetaMask Card across 13 more Latin American countries, adding more real-world payment use cases for self-custodial balances. It also opened Agent Wallet early access for users testing AI-driven onchain execution with policy controls.

That expansion increases the importance of reliable wallet connectivity. MetaMask is no longer only a signing tool for DeFi users. It now touches swaps, bridges, portfolio tracking, payments, tokenized assets, prediction markets and agent-based trading flows.

For users, the immediate priority is simple: confirm balances through trusted block explorers, avoid suspicious support links, do not reveal recovery phrases and wait for MetaMask’s next official update. The key detail still missing is the scope of the disruption, including which networks were affected, whether Infura or another provider was involved, and when normal connectivity fully returns.
