Leading U.S.-based crypto exchange Coinbase has continued to expand its presence across multiple nations, providing extensive services that span beyond crypto trading.
In an official announcement from Coinbase earlier today, the exchange revealed it has secured a major license in the United Kingdom, which marks its biggest-ever expansion in the country.
Coinbase now provides more than crypto services in UK
The exchange confirmed that it has been officially authorized to provide investment services that go beyond its crypto products in the UK.
While the authorization puts Coinbase in the spotlight in the country, it will allow Coinbase to introduce traditional investment products to UK customers.

Notably, the products include equities and derivatives, alongside its existing crypto-based offerings.
With the license now secured, Coinbase promises to allow institutional and advanced traders to access derivatives such as crypto, equity, and commodity perpetual futures.
On the other hand, the exchange will also allow retail users in the country to trade stocks directly on Coinbase for the first time since it launched.
Coinbase pushes crypto adoption in UK
Apart from its latest authorization in the UK, Coinbase boasts of multiple regulatory approvals in the UK, including its e-money license and crypto registration.
It cited the growing interest in crypto investment services in the country, noting that around seven million adults already own cryptocurrencies in the UK.
Meanwhile, about one-quarter of those who do not currently hold crypto say they would be more likely to participate under a well-regulated market. Nonetheless, Coinbase now fits into the description of a well-regulated crypto exchange in the country.
