BNB Chain is preparing a new high-frequency Layer 1 focused on a future where AI agents execute financial operations at machine speed. The project aims to combine fast confirmation times, predictable execution and a different transaction flow model to compete for algorithmic trading activity.

The concept behind the upgrade is straightforward: AI agents require blockchain infrastructure capable of processing thousands of decisions quickly, especially when strategies depend on arbitrage, market making or automated portfolio management. BNB Chain believes a specialized L1 could become a key platform for these emerging applications.

The roadmap targets more than 100,000 transactions per second, preconfirmations below 50 milliseconds and sub-second finality. These objectives position the network toward high-frequency use cases that have traditionally depended on centralized systems.

BNB Chain’s timeline places the public testnet at the end of 2026, followed by a possible mainnet launch in early 2027. Until then, the network must demonstrate that its performance goals remain effective under real market conditions.

AI Agents Need More Than Speed To Capture Liquidity

The expansion of AI trading tools is already moving beyond experimental applications. Companies such as Coinbase have introduced agent-focused infrastructure that allows automated systems to perform transactions through controlled permissions.
