Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs have announced a joint initiative to address global biosecurity challenges using artificial intelligence. The program, revealed on July 16, 2026, focuses on preventing, detecting, and responding to biological threats, including potential misuse of AI in bioweapons development. The initiative builds on Isomorphic Labs’ AI-powered Drug Design Engine (IsoDDE) and DeepMind’s groundbreaking AlphaFold, which mapped the 3D structure of nearly all known proteins.
