Apple Stock Outperforms Broader Tech Market

Apple Inc. shares rose 3.55%, outperforming the Technology Equipment sector, which fell 0.40% during the session. The move came as several high-turnover technology names traded lower.

Micron Technology fell 4.38%, SanDisk dropped 5.87%, and Intel declined 2.96%. Apple’s gain stood out because investors continued buying the stock while chip and hardware peers faced pressure.

AAPL climbed above $333, pushing Apple’s market capitalization past $4.9 trillion. The stock also moved near its all-time intraday high of $334.99, reached on July 17, 2026.

The rally followed renewed interest in Apple’s AI strategy, stronger supply chain signals, and institutional capital inflows. Apple also maintains a dominant industry position, with $416.16 billion in recent annual revenue.

Baird Raises Apple Target Before Earnings

Baird raised its Apple price target to $330 from $310 while keeping an Outperform rating. The firm expects solid fiscal third-quarter results, supported by iPhone demand and steady services growth.

Apple is scheduled to report earnings on July 30. Options markets suggest the stock could move about 3.5% after the results, as traders position for guidance and product-cycle updates.

Baird analyst William Power said, “We expect solid FQ3 results, driven by strong iPhone growth and steady services trends.” He added that memory pricing remains a challenge, though price increases may ease some pressure.

The analyst also pointed to Apple’s cash generation, product cycle, and early Siri AI feedback. Apple generated about $129 billion in free cash flow over the last twelve months, giving investors another reason to support the stock.

Several analysts have also revised revenue forecasts upward. They cited stronger performance in emerging markets and momentum in spatial computing as reasons for the improved outlook.

AI, M6 Macs, and Services Drive Focus

Apple’s AI integration remains a key part of the current investment case. The company has been adding generative AI features across its devices and services, shifting attention toward software-driven growth.

Investor focus has also moved toward Siri AI updates. Early comments around Apple’s AI assistant have helped support expectations that future devices may carry stronger software-linked demand.

Apple is also preparing to introduce its next-generation M6 processor across its Mac lineup. The refresh is expected to begin this fall and continue into next year.

Expected products include updated 14-inch MacBook Pro models and new iMac computers. The iMac refresh would mark the first update for that desktop line in two years.

Apple is also preparing Apple Upgrade, a new device leasing program backed by Klarna. The service is expected to launch in the United States on July 28.

Evercore ISI maintained its Outperform rating and $365 price target after reports about the program. The firm also kept its positive view after reports of settlement talks with the U.S. Department of Justice over an antitrust lawsuit filed in March 2024.

Automotive Software Adds New Growth Route

Apple is expanding into automotive software after ending its electric vehicle project two years ago. Ford will become the first automaker to adopt Apple’s new MapKit for Automotive software development kit.

The technology will be integrated into dashboards across Ford’s upcoming electric vehicle platform. The system will also provide road data for Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving feature.

Unlike CarPlay, the new software places Apple’s mapping tools deeper inside vehicle systems. That move gives Apple a larger role in vehicle software without producing its own car.
