What to know:

  • Pi Network completed the distribution of its second testnet token, SLICE, through the Pi Launchpad and invited Pioneers to explore new features.
  • SLICE introduces updated Launchpad tools, including token allocation tracking, launch pricing, effective pricing, and a liquidity pool with price monitoring.
  • PI price remains volatile, briefly rebounding above 20% before falling back over 10% after failing to hold the $0.10 resistance level.

Pi Network team has announced that they have successfully released the second testnet token, SLICE, for the Pi Launchpad ecosystem. The news has been posted on the official account of Pi on X and calls upon users, who are referred to as “Pioneers,” to discover the new features in the Launchpad.

This comes after several tests and is meant to introduce more tools to familiarize users with the Launchpad ahead of any token launches.

Pi Network Rolls Out SLICE Testnet Token

The SLICE project is based on the first Launchpad test, which began on PiDay 2026, which fell on March 14. In the process of the test, there were almost 480,000 Pioneers who took part in the experiment. The creators of Pi Network say that the participants’ comments helped to enhance the user experience in the Launchpad system.

To keep improving further, Pi Network launched the SLICE testnet token in June. The test period started on June 12, but ended on June 28, Pi2Day. Even though there was no additional information provided after the end of the testing period, the developers have now officially confirmed that the distribution process is finished.

Individual SLICE token allocations can be checked via the Launchpad feature available via the Pi Browser.

New Launchpad Features Available for Pioneers

After the distribution, Pi Network called for users to enjoy the use of the updated tools on the platform. The tool known as the Launchpad enables users to see the token distribution, the token price at which the token launches, and the effective price.

Users will also have access to the SLICE liquidity pool, which comes with a new price tracking tool that shows how the value of SLICE varies when compared to test-Pi, a different token running on the Pi Network testnet.

As work on the testnet progresses, the market action of Pi Network’s native PI coin has been volatile.

Just a couple of days ago, the coin tumbled to a new lifetime low around $0.07, having lost ground at the $0.10 level of support. The price rebounded by over 20% in just one day and tried to recapture the $0.10 mark.

Unfortunately, the reversal proved short-lived, as selling continued to press the token, sending it back down by over 10% to around $0.082.

Community Reports Wallet Issues

On the other hand, certain Pi Network investors have expressed their worries on social networks regarding some suspicious behavior related to their Pi Wallets.

The reports indicate a loss of tokens and several failed transactions with an unknown wallet address. However, there has been no official statement from the Pi Network regarding these complaints yet.

Despite these problems and concerns among investors, Pi Network keeps developing its testnet environment by distributing SLICE as a step towards enhancing the Pi Launchpad for further improvements.
