BNY and Galaxy Advance Crypto Staking
Carolyn Weinberg, Chief Product & Innovation Officer at BNY Mellon, observed that clients are no longer content with just safe custody since digital assets have started gaining more traction. She further highlighted that by implementing crypto staking, they would enhance their digital assets business without compromising on governance and control.
Steve Kurz, Global Co-Head of Digital Assets at Galaxy Digital, believes that the future of financial markets would depend on digital architecture that could be trusted by institutions.
Additionally, Steve Kurz pointed out that Galaxy has been working for years on institutional staking services, and the partnership with BNY will provide them with trusted financial architecture.
This is an indication of increasing interest from conventional banks to diversify their offerings in digital asset services beyond simple custody services. The integration of crypto staking with custody services by BNY and Galaxy Digital is meant to give institutional investors a complete and efficient means of participating in the crypto market while protecting the assets from any risks.
