Binance Academy Launches Crypto Risk Management Course

Binance Academy, the educational arm of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has introduced a new course on crypto risk management. This initiative aims to empower users with the tools and knowledge to protect their digital assets in a volatile and increasingly complex market environment.

The course, accessible for free through Binance Academy’s platform, covers key topics such as recognizing phishing scams, implementing wallet security best practices, and utilizing advanced tools like multi-factor authentication. Binance Academy describes the program as part of its broader mission to promote safe and informed participation in the crypto economy. Since launching in 2018, the Academy has offered open-access content ranging from beginner guides to technical analysis, with the new risk management curriculum marking a timely addition.

This emphasis on education comes as Binance faces heightened regulatory scrutiny, particularly in Europe. The exchange has struggled to maintain operations in the region, failing to secure the necessary regulatory approvals under the EU’s new MiCA framework. Most recently, Binance announced its intent to exit several European markets, a move that underscores the growing importance of compliance and user protection measures globally.

Binance’s focus on user security extends beyond education. The company reportedly invests $300 million annually in compliance, employing nearly 1,500 professionals—approximately one in four of its employees—in related roles. As of June 2026, Binance had intercepted $10.53 billion in potential fraud and recovered over $8.2 billion in user assets since 2021, showcasing the effectiveness of its fraud prevention systems.

In addition to financial investment, Binance leverages AI-powered tools to detect suspicious activity and improve incident response times. These systems play a critical role in reducing illicit transactions, with just 0.018–0.023% of Binance’s total transaction volume linked to illicit addresses as of 2025—well below industry averages.

For users, the new risk management course is a practical resource amid these broader efforts. As crypto markets remain prone to scams and hacks, understanding core security principles is essential. Binance Academy’s free, self-paced format makes this knowledge accessible to a global audience, aligning with the company’s strategy to build trust and transparency in the digital asset space.

While the crypto sector navigates tighter regulations and evolving threats, Binance’s educational and security initiatives highlight the steps leading platforms are taking to safeguard users and bolster confidence in the industry. For traders and investors, staying informed through resources like Binance Academy could prove invaluable as crypto adoption continues to grow.
