Gemini Opens Direct XRPL Transfers in Singapore, Giving XRP a Major Asia Boost

XRP adoption is gaining momentum in Asia after crypto exchange Gemini enabled direct XRP Ledger (XRPL) deposits and withdrawals for users in Singapore.

Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss highlighted the rollout as big news for the XRP community in Asia.

More notably, Singapore-based users can now move XRP directly through the XRP Ledger, providing a native way to transfer the asset between Gemini and external wallets.

The move is significant because it goes beyond simply offering XRP for trading. By supporting the network itself, Gemini is giving users a more direct connection to the blockchain that powers XRP and the wider XRPL ecosystem.

Direct XRPL Support Expands XRP Utility

Native network support can make it easier for users to transfer XRP between exchanges, personal wallets and XRPL-based applications.

However, Singapore users must still comply with Gemini’s applicable requirements, including Travel Rule obligations, deposit attestations and network-specific guidelines. The measures reflect Singapore’s tightly regulated approach to digital-asset transfers.

It is also important to distinguish XRP from XRPL. XRP is the network’s native asset, while the XRP Ledger is the blockchain infrastructure that enables fast value transfers and supports applications spanning payments, tokenization and decentralized finance.

Therefore, Gemini’s support adds another bridge between users and that infrastructure.

Why Singapore Matters

Singapore is one of Asia’s leading fintech and digital-asset hubs, making the rollout especially relevant for XRP and XRPL adoption.

As blockchain use cases expand across payments, stablecoins, tokenized assets and DeFi, exchange support for native XRPL transfers can help connect more users to the ecosystem.

For the XRP Army, Gemini’s move is therefore more than another deposit and withdrawal option. It strengthens XRP’s presence in a major Asian crypto market while giving Singapore users a direct gateway to the XRP Ledger.

If Gemini expands native XRPL support into additional markets, the move could further improve XRP liquidity, transfer accessibility and exposure to the broader XRPL ecosystem.
