Crypto ETF issuer Grayscale has launched the first Zcash spot ETF, further expanding its crypto offerings. This comes as the ZEC price rallies to new highs amid renewed optimism in the crypto market, with Bitcoin breaking above $80,000.

Grayscale Launches Zcash Spot ETF

In a press release, the crypto ETF issuer announced that its spot Zcash ETF has begun trading on the NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH. The fund becomes the first to offer institutional investors spot exposure to the privacy coin.

This follows yesterday’s report that Grayscale plans to launch the ZEC fund today after filing an 8-K with the SEC. The launch further expands Grayscale’s crypto offerings, with the asset manager already offering Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Chainlink, Dogecoin, and Sui ETFs.

The Zcash ETF launch comes amid rising demand for ZEC, as the privacy narrative heats up. Zcash has notably received endorsement from crypto stakeholders such as Cameron Winklevoss, who is backing the ZEC treasury firm Cypherpunk.

In a recent X post, he said,  “If you are bullish on AI then you are bullish on Zcash. In the age of super intelligence, private money is essential.”

Meanwhile, in an X post, Grayscale Chairman Barry Silbert said the firm intends to use 100% of the Zcash ETF management fee for marketing, education & awareness in support of Zcash.

ZEC Rallies To New Highs

ZEC has rallied to new highs amid the launch of the Grayscale Zcash ETF. The privacy coin recently reached a yearly high of $850 as Bitcoin broke above the psychological $80,000 level with renewed optimism of a bull run.

Zcash is now up over 60% year-to-date (YTD) even as it eyes a potential rally to the psychological $1,000 level. The privacy coin fell below $300 earlier this year amid FUD over a potential counterfeit exploit after a code error was discovered in the Orchard shielded pool.

However, the Zcash team has addressed this with the Ironwood upgrade. This retired the Orchard pool and introduced a redesigned shielded pool that has stronger security provisions, enabling users to easily verify the supply in the pool.
