Johnny Depp is primarily known as a three-time Academy Award-nominated actor, and for a long time, he ranked among the hottest box office draws in the world. A number of personal dramas and a handful of less-well-remembered films have lessened Depp’s star power in some ways, though he has also spent more of his time on various passion projects away from Hollywood – in one sense, at least.
While he continues to work on several movies, Depp is also a member of the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. Originally named after a drinking club founded by Alice Cooper, the rock outfit includes Cooper and Aerosmith founding member Joe Perry.
The band recently dropped a new live set, At Montreux Jazz Festival, the collective’s second recording of that kind. The project becomes a quick bestseller on the United Kingdom’s music charts this week, and it even helps Depp and his bandmates rise higher than ever on one roster.
Hollywood Vampires Debuts on Three Charts
At Montreux Jazz Festival debuts on three U.K. rankings at once. The live release opens at No. 11 on the Official Album Downloads chart, No. 21 on the Official Albums Sales ranking and No. 22 on the Official Physical Albums tally. In each case, At Montreux Jazz Festival becomes the fourth Hollywood Vampires project to chart.
Hollywood Vampires Reaches a New Career High
Hollywood Vampires flies to a new career peak on one of those three charts with its latest offering. As At Montreux Jazz Festival starts at No. 11 on the Official Album Downloads ranking, the title easily surpasses the group’s previous high point. Rise had held that distinction after climbing to No. 16 more than half a decade ago.
Hollywood Vampires Nearly Matches Its Biggest Sellers
On both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, At Montreux Jazz Festival becomes Hollywood Vampires’ second-highest-charting release. Rise remains the group’s biggest success on both purchase-only lists, as it worked its way into the top 10 on the two. It is still the band’s only project to reach that tier on either chart.
Hollywood Vampires Brings Two Older Albums Back to the Charts
Hollywood Vampires also sends two previous releases back to the Official Album Downloads chart this week amidst all the excitement around the new live recording. Rise and the group’s self-titled Hollywood Vampires reenter at Nos. 88 and 90, respectively, sitting only two spaces apart.
The band has placed four projects on the downloads roster throughout its career, and three of them are present simultaneously this frame. Only Live in Rio is missing. That collection debuted at No. 53 in the summer of 2023, spent a single week on the tally and has not returned since.
Johnny Depp Reaches a New Musical Peak
The No. 11 debut of At Montreux Jazz Festival is especially notable for Depp, as it gives him a new career high on the Official Album Downloads chart as a musician. His Hollywood Vampires bandmates have risen much higher on the roster with their other musical ventures.

Cooper has enjoyed decades of success under his own name, while Perry helped Aerosmith become one of the biggest rock bands of all time. Aerosmith recently returned to No. 1 on a U.K. sales ranking alongside English alternative singer-songwriter Yungblud, as the two acts sent One More Time to the summit only months ago.
