Phoebe Bridgers spaced her two most recent solo albums apart from one another by more than half a decade. The singer-songwriter did not take time off in between those eras – not much, at least. During that period, Bridgers helped form the supergroup Boygenius with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. The trio released just one full-length, The Record, which earned them critical acclaim and won the women several Grammys.
Boygenius is now on hiatus and may never reform, as the singer-songwriters never meant for the project to completely distract from their solo ventures – but the attention it brought them has helped each musician in her own career. Bridgers returns to the charts in the United Kingdom this week with her latest solo album, Lost Weekend. The set is a quick chart-topper on most rankings and helps the alternative superstar reach heights she has never seen before.
Phoebe Bridgers Debuts at No. 1 on Five U.K. Charts
Lost Weekend appears on seven U.K. charts this week, and it is a top five hit on every one of them. The full-length – her third on her own – debuts at No. 1 on the Official Albums, Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, Official Vinyl Albums and Official Americana charts. In every case, Lost Weekend becomes Bridgers’s first leader.
The collection also starts at No. 3 on the Official Album Downloads ranking and No. 4 on the Official Albums Streaming tally.
Phoebe Bridgers Doubles Her Top 10 Count
Lost Weekend doubles Bridgers’s career total top 10s counts on the Official Albums, Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads, Official Physical Albums and Official Vinyl Albums charts. Punisher, which arrived in 2020, brought her into the highest tier on all five rankings for the first time.
Bridgers hits the top 10 on the Official Albums Streaming chart for the first time with Lost Weekend. Her previous release Punisher managed only a brief stay on the roster, where it peaked at No. 49.
On the Official Americana chart, where Bridgers is more successful, she continues to claim a perfect track record. All three of her projects that have performed well enough to land on the list have found their way into the top 10. Punisher nearly conquered the roster when it stalled at No. 2, while Stranger in the Alps stopped lifting and settled in fifth place.
Phoebe Bridgers Brings Punisher Back to the Charts
The excitement surrounding Lost Weekend also sends Punisher back to three sales rankings in the U.K. as it reenters the Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads and Official Physical Albums charts at Nos. 92, 93 and 95, respectively. Punisher has previously reached the top 10 on all three tallies, peaking at Nos. 4, 6 and 4, respectively.
