The price of Bitcoin is approaching a major milestone, with increasing institutional appetite and growing derivatives activity helping it get closer to the $80,000 mark.
As of this writing, Bitcoin price is trading at $78,744 and continues to trade close to its recent highs after experiencing a major breakout from a consolidation period.

Bitcoin ETF Demand Remains Strong
According to the latest information released by Lookonchain, the net inflows for U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in a single day amounted to 4,284 BTC worth $336.07 million on August 25. In the past seven days, the total net inflow reached 26,499 BTC, which is equal to $2.08 billion.
Lookonchain highlighted “1D NetFlow: +4,284 $BTC (+$336.07M)” and “7D NetFlow: +26,499 $BTC (+$2.08B)”, reflecting continued institutional demand for Bitcoin products.
Out of these issuers, BlackRock’s IBIT recorded 2,650 BTC inflows within a day, while Fidelity’s FBTC recorded another 1,327 BTC in inflows. The ongoing accumulation by major ETF issuers suggests strong activity from institutional investors despite the fact that Bitcoin is trading at its highest levels of the year.
The increasing ETF demand comes as Bitcoin tries to establish support above the important breakout area.

Bitcoin Price Breakout Supported by Technical Strength
As shown on the TradingView chart, the price of Bitcoin is trading far above its 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day exponential moving averages. The breakout from the $68,743 level has turned the area into a potential support zone.
Additionally, the technical momentum indicators support the bullish trend. The RSI indicator is also above 80 levels, indicating that there is significant positive momentum following the latest price surge. Though high readings might point to overbought conditions, they also highlight the strength of buying interest.

Based on the information provided by CoinGlass, Bitcoin open interest has climbed toward the $58 billion mark, one of the highest levels seen in recent months.
