Ripple’s XRP has been on a winning streak lately as altcoins kicked off a notable recovery following Bitcoin’s rise to $80,000. The altcoin, currently the 5th most valued cryptocurrency by market cap, trades at a press time price of $1.39.
Over the last week, XRP has recorded a notable price surge; XRP ETFs have also seen a massive boost, while on-chain activity displayed a major increase in addresses.
XRP stands out as a leading altcoin gainer
One of the most pronounced growth metrics for XRP has been reflected in the asset ripping 45% this week, making it the highest performer right behind Hyperliquid’s HYPE within the top 10 category. Buying pressure has remained high suggesting that the market demand is still strong.
The asset also appears primed for a massive bullish run. In a recent report shared by Cryptoinsight, XRP has begun to look strikingly similar to the beginning of the major impulse in late 2024, which ultimately took the market from $0.50 to over $3.
XRP ETF sees notable spike
As observed by Teddy Fusaro, the President of Bitwise, volumes in the Bitwise XRP ETF have really popped over the last 3 sessions. Over $80 million traded today and over $60 million each of the prior two days—each of which would have been its highest volume day since inception.
As BankXRP, an XRP research platform, shared in a recent post, “US spot XRP ETPs absorbed 14.8% of net new supply in H1 May alone saw over 50% coverage
Annual supply dilution: 5.5% (vs XLM 8.8%, TON 9.6%)
RLUSD supply up 1,131% by June 30, with over half deployed directly on XRPL On-chain settlement volume rose even as fee revenue fell.”
Interestingly, XRP ETFs closed on Monday with strong gains as more than $100 million was recorded in inflows, further suggesting that a high level of daily investment might become the new normal. This is generally viewed as bullish for XRP because consistent big inflows into the ETFs mean more institutional and retail money is buying and holding XRP.
