Solana has suddenly come back above $100, making it one of the top assets leading sharp recoveries in the crypto market. The altcoin rose to $106 on Friday, advancing its week’s increase to 13.7%, fueled by positive events identified by analyst Alex Marzell.

The token surged from $95.44 on Monday to $102 on Wednesday and continued its rally, hovering at $106 today, Saturday. Despite a 30% uptick last week, it failed to hold above $100 and retreated to the $93-$97 range.

What’s Driving Solana Past $100

This week on Wednesday, the token finally broke $100, bringing its much-anticipated breakout into the spotlight after months of consolidation. Since then, the asset has held above the mark, driven by notable catalysts highlighted by the expert.

First, the impressive rise follows after the asset recorded remarkable gains as spot Solana ETF inflows hit their strongest pace on Wednesday. Data shared by the analyst showed that spot Solana ETFs drew in $33.49 million on August 26, their biggest single-day inflow since December 2025, bringing total net inflows to $1.22 billion. In short, the ongoing SOL price aligns with Spot Solana ETFs recording inflows for 21 consecutive days.

Another catalyst behind SOL’s move past $100 is an institutional liquidity rebound, suggesting smart money is quietly building positions in the Solana ecosystem. The development indicates a significant increase in whale addresses interacting with SOL, reflecting fresh token buying activity among institutional investors.

Glassnode metrics show the Solana network registered 4.2 billion on-chain transactions last month, up 13.5% from June and 91% from December last year. This massive on-chain activity highlights substantial stablecoin usage on the blockchain. In response, Circle issued an additional $1 billion in USDC on the Solana network on Monday to meet increased on-chain trading demand.

So, What’s Next For SOL?

SOL’s move to officially smash through the key psychological barrier at the $100 mark hints that it’s ready to climb higher, as reported by the analyst’s market observation.

Over the last week, the asset reclaimed the $78-79 resistance area and eventually settled at a higher level, $92-97, before climbing above $100. This successive expansion shows that purchasers are willing to keep amassing tokens at higher prices, pushing the upside trajectory.

Currently, SOL trades at $106, facing resistance around $105-$110, a rise that gives it the strength to break out towards the $115-$120 zone soon. A decline toward $100-$105 would not harm the developing bullish formation if buyers keep defending the resistance as support. However, a persistent fall below $100 would weaken the breakout momentum and bring its price back to the $90 level.
