Ferran Torres is risking the ire of FC Barcelona fans with his comments made as a new Paris Saint-Germain player.

Ex-FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres seems to be doing his best to anger former teammates and current fans of the club, through comments made in the press while on duty at his new club Paris Saint-Germain.
Ferran scored the winning goal of the World Cup final for Spain against Argentina, and then became the protagonist in a transfer novela which concluded with him joining the Qatari-backed Champions League holders for a €50 million fee.
That wasn’t bad business for Barca struck by Sporting Director Deco, considering the facts that Ferran had less than a year left on his contract and the Catalans agreed to pay Manchester City €55 million for his services in late 2021.
Something picked up on by many corners of the press and Culer fanbase was that few players bid farewell to Ferran on social media – especially when compared to the overpouring of love figures like Hector Fort received upon departing to Real Sociedad.
Now, with the 2026/2027 season already underway, it seems that Torres is doing his best to anger Culers whenever appearing before the press.
“It’s a step forward in my career that I’m super proud of, because I’m going to the European champions,” Ferran said, from PSG’s Media Day.
“I’ve always said that Luis Enrique was like a father to me since I arrived in the Spanish national team. He has always believed in me and now he believed in me to sign for PSG.
“He has always given me a lot of confidence and I hope to repay it this season. Both Luis Enrique and [PSG sporting director] Luis Campos have been very important figures for me to be here. I am very grateful for the trust they have given me. Now I’m acclimatizing.
“I’ve been here for two weeks, and the only way I have now is to keep improving and be ready for my teammates. I can’t wait to win trophies and matches at this amazing club,” Ferran added.
Ferran will of course face his old team on October 20 in the Champions League. Given his comments, it is perhaps best that the League Phase match takes place at the Parc des Princes and not in the Spotify Camp Nou to avoid a hellish reception from Culers.
“The match against Barcelona will be special,” Torres claimed. “They were my teammates for four and a half years. It’s going to be an exciting game for me and for the team. PSG-Barcelona matches are always special. We’ll try to win, but we’ll see.”
FC Barcelona did not replace Raphinha
Failing to land Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, Barca did not directly replace Ferran Torres even though Robert Lewandowski’s contract expired as well.
Hamza Abdelkarim showed promise in preseason and could one day be worthy of wearing the number 9 shirt. But until then, Hansi Flick has opted for winger Raphinha to adopt a central attacking role.
The Brazilian and FC Barcelona captain has repaid the German with five goals in three appearances so far, with the Blaugrana currently top of the league.
