Can DOGE Hit a New ATH by the End of 2026?

Dogecoin slipped back toward $0.086 on Sept. 10, losing roughly 4% over 24 hours as a failed breakout and leveraged long unwinding pushed the largest meme coin back toward an important support zone.

The selloff followed a rejection near the 200-day exponential moving average around $0.0964, according to current DOGE market analysis. The same analysis identifies $0.082-$0.084 as the immediate support area, with a break potentially exposing the psychological $0.08 level.

DOGE remains positive over the past week, but the latest move shows how quickly momentum can reverse when speculative positioning becomes crowded.

Long Positions Are Making the Drop Worse

The latest decline does not appear to have been triggered by a major Dogecoin-specific announcement.

Instead, leveraged positioning is amplifying the move.

DOGE entered the session with elevated long exposure in perpetual futures, creating conditions for forced selling once price failed to clear resistance. That makes the current decline more of a positioning reset than a fundamental change in Dogecoin’s network or adoption story.

The technical weakness also contrasts with the stronger accumulation themes seen earlier this year. We previously highlighted a major DOGE support cluster near $0.081, where more than 30 billion DOGE had historically changed hands.

That makes the current $0.08–$0.084 region particularly important.

Dogecoin ETFs Are Not Providing Much Support

Institutional demand is also relatively muted.

The 21Shares Dogecoin ETF, TDOG, had only about $2.66 million in assets as of Sept. 9, while the REX-Osprey DOGE ETF remained much larger but still modest compared with major Bitcoin or Ethereum funds.

That fits a pattern Coinpaper identified earlier when Dogecoin ETF demand remained weak, leaving retail trading and derivatives positioning as more important short-term price drivers.
