DataMEDS AI (NASDAQ: MEDS) saw its stock close up 87.20% at $1.62 on Tuesday, following news that it completed its acquisition of Helomics Corporation from Axe Compute Inc. (NASDAQ: AGPU). The stock had surged as high as 66% in pre-market trading before extending gains through the regular session.
The deal was valued at $1.5 million total, paid through common stock and an acquisition note. DataMEDS took on no third-party debt as part of the transaction.
In return, DataMEDS received Helomics’ CLIA/CAP-certified clinical laboratory, full ownership of all lab equipment, the Predictive Oncology contract research organization (CRO) central lab services business, and $1.5 million in cash.
Helomics is based in Pittsburgh and uses artificial intelligence to analyze real-world tumor data. It supports drug discovery and cancer treatment decisions through functional precision medicine.
The acquisition gives DataMEDS a direct entry point into the U.S. cancer diagnostics and treatment market, which is estimated at around $40 billion.
Expanding Beyond GLP-1 and Long COVID
Gerald Commissiong, Interim Co-CEO of DataMEDS, said the deal pushes the company into oncology, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients in rural areas. He noted that DataMEDS plans to expand its services beyond GLP-1 agonist side effects and Long COVID into cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Under DataMEDS’ ownership, Helomics is expected to grow beyond tumor molecular profiling and chemosensitivity testing. Plans include cancer screening, traditional CLIA lab services, and nutritional support for cancer patients.
Axe Compute CEO Chris Miglino said the deal structure allows his company to keep a shareholder position in Helomics going forward. Axe Compute will now focus on scaling its core AI infrastructure business.
Helomics was the last remaining operating business from Axe Compute’s previous identity as Predictive Oncology Inc., before the company rebranded in December 2025.
