TLDR
- Trueo plans to migrate its prediction-market protocol from Base to Ethereum mainnet.
- Existing Base markets will continue operating during the transition, with new markets expiring after January 31, 2027 directed toward Ethereum.
- TRUE token holders will have an open-ended migration window, while future staking and liquidity rewards will move to Ethereum.
- Trueo says Ethereum offers deeper liquidity, broader integrations and a better base for its next-generation oracle system.
- Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin publicly praised the project’s focus on decentralization and prediction-market design.
Prediction-market platform Trueo is preparing to move from Coinbase-linked Layer 2 Base to Ethereum mainnet as it looks for deeper liquidity and broader integration opportunities. The project says Base was the right place to launch in 2025, but Ethereum now better fits its longer-term plans.
Glad to see that Ethereum L1 will have a new strong prediction market contender that is dedicated to decentralization, and being ethical and not corposlop, and to actually trying to do interesting and meaningful things with this class of economic primitive.…

Trueo has not completed the migration yet, and its current contracts remain deployed on Base. Existing markets will continue trading, resolving and allowing redemptions while the Ethereum version is prepared.
Trueo Moves Prediction Markets to Ethereum
Trueo launched on Base in March 2025 using onchain YES-or-NO prediction markets. The protocol uses a custom Uniswap v4 hook, while TYD acts as the payment asset for current market positions and oracle bonds.
The project says new Base markets expiring during 2026 can still be created. However, users planning markets with expiry dates after January 31, 2027 are being encouraged to wait for the Ethereum deployment.
Trueo said Ethereum offers stronger integration potential, wider liquidity and a more established DeFi ecosystem. The team also said lower execution costs have made Ethereum mainnet more practical than when Trueo first launched.
Base was originally chosen because Ethereum gas fees were higher and parts of the product were still experimental. Trueo now says its long-term goal is to become widely adopted, permissionless, mostly immutable and broadly integrated.
TRUE Token and Staking Will Move to Ethereum
The TRUE governance and oracle token will also migrate to Ethereum. Trueo has not set a deadline for holders to complete the move, describing the migration window as open-ended.
Future staking incentives and liquidity rewards are expected to run on Ethereum once the new deployment is live. During the transition, existing Base markets will remain active under the current settlement system.
Public deployment data still lists Trueo’s main contracts on Base, including its TruthMarketManager, OracleCouncil and OracleBonds contracts. No Ethereum mainnet contract addresses have yet been published.
DefiLlama data cited in the reports showed around $796,000 in total value locked in Trueo, with all tracked TVL still located on Base. The platform remains relatively small compared with the largest onchain prediction markets.
Vitalik Buterin Praises Trueo Approach
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin publicly welcomed Trueo’s move to Ethereum mainnet. He praised its focus on decentralization and said prediction markets could be used for more meaningful applications beyond short-term trading.
Buterin’s comments did not include any announcement of an Ethereum Foundation investment, grant or formal partnership. His remarks were limited to public support for the project’s approach and planned Ethereum deployment.
Trueo is also developing a new oracle system for resolving disputed prediction-market outcomes. The current version allows participants to propose market results, followed by a 12-hour challenge period and several escalation stages if a result is disputed.
The project says market questions, resolution sources and supporting information are committed onchain when markets are created. That prevents the written terms from being changed after deployment.
Trueo has not announced a launch date for its Ethereum mainnet version. Until then, Base remains the active home of the protocol while development of the migration and next-generation oracle continues
