  • Binance recorded a 13,800 Bitcoin single-day outflow, its largest since 2023.
  • Binance’s Bitcoin reserves fell from 705,000 to 685,000 BTC in four days.
  • Analysts link the outflow to renewed FOMO.

More than 13,800 Bitcoin left Binance in one day on September 25, the exchange’s largest daily withdrawal since 2023.

The move comes as Bitcoin trades near $84,000, with Binance’s exchange reserves falling sharply over the same period.

Binance Reserves Drop by 20,000 BTC in Four Days

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost reported on the 25th that Binance’s net outflow of Bitcoin exceeded 13,800 BTC in a single day, marking the largest amount since 2023.

“Over the span of 4 days, Binance’s BTC reserves dropped from 705 000 BTC to 685 000 BTC, today reported,” the analyst wrote.

According to him, Binance, which holds roughly 30% of all exchange-accessible Bitcoin, has posted a weekly average net outflow of approximately 2,000 BTC.

Over four days, its reserves fell from 705,000 Bitcoin to 685,000 Bitcoin, a decline of roughly 20,000 BTC.

The exchange previously logged a net outflow of about 9,000 BTC in a single day in late July, though Darkfost noted this week’s move is significantly larger.

Analyst Points to FOMO Among Late Entrants

Darkfost described the shift as a sudden development that suggests a wave of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) among latecomer investors, particularly those who were expecting Bitcoin to drop further, as it did during previous bear markets.

CryptoQuant analyst characterized the current Bitcoin price rally, when Bitcoin increased roughly 45% since July, as distinct from Bitcoin’s previous rebounds this cycle.

He noted that sustained accumulation during a rising market often reduces the BTC available on exchanges for immediate sale, and suggested further large outflows could recur if the rally continues.

“When outflows become dominant, it indicates that some investors are choosing to hold their BTC themselves. This is behavior often associated with long-term holding, which is a positive sign. Mechanically, the decrease in BTC on exchanges reduces potential selling pressure. “

He also expects similar large outflow events could occur again if Bitcoin continues advancing.

Bitcoin Price Holds Above $84,000

Bitcoin’s price has been relatively steady but volatile over the past 24 hours. As of Friday, Bitcoin is trading at around $84,670, with a 24-hour range of roughly $82,900–$84,900. Bitcoin is up 1.5% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data.

The exchange outflows come alongside continued demand from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, although daily inflows have slowed.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $190.65 million in net inflows on September 24, the lowest daily inflow over the past five days. By comparison, inflows reached $998.95 million on September 21, marking the largest single-day inflow since October 2025.

Why the Binance Outflows Matter

A sustained decline in exchange-held Bitcoin could reduce the amount of BTC immediately available for trading, although exchange outflows do not necessarily indicate that coins have been permanently removed from the market.
