Robinhood is preparing to launch a Robinhood AI agent that can research markets, build trading strategies, and place trades for customers. Robinhood announced the feature at the HOOD Summit in Houston. It will live inside the Robinhood app and operate within limits each customer sets.
Robinhood AI Agent Brings Automated Trading to Retail Users
Customers will create a separate account for the agent and decide how much control it receives. Robinhood will require customers to approve each trade by default, although users can switch that setting off. They can also choose an AI model, including models from OpenAI. GPT-Luna will remain free through year-end.
AI agents are also moving deeper into digital payments. Block recently added Bitcoin Lightning support to the x402 payment protocol. The system allows software agents to make payments for online services automatically. The trend shows financial platforms are testing more ways for software to act on users’ behalf.
Robinhood says more than 150,000 customers already use agentic trading accounts after a May release for advanced users. Those agents access Robinhood tools nearly 30 million times each day. The Robinhood AI agent aims to make similar functions available to a wider group.
Loops Will Let Strategies Run Repeatedly
Robinhood also plans to add Loops, a feature that turns a strategy into a standing instruction. An agent could check markets each morning or run a defined strategy overnight. Customers would still control the account limits and permissions.
Robinhood’s prediction-market business has been expanding. Recent data showed event-contract revenue reached $156 million in the second quarter. That business forms part of Robinhood’s wider effort to offer more products for active traders across one platform.
Crypto Perpetual Futures Are Coming to U.S. Users
Robinhood also plans to offer crypto perpetual futures to eligible U.S. customers through Bitstamp. Bitcoin and Ether contracts will allow leverage of up to 10 times. SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE contracts will offer up to three times leverage.
Robinhood Chain has also faced fresh scrutiny over memecoin activity. The company’s new trading products arrive as it expands across crypto markets, tokenized assets, and automated tools. Robinhood says perpetual futures will launch in coming months, while Robinhood Agents will arrive soon. Both products remain limited to eligible U.S. customers at launch.
