Aave’s AAVE token climbed 8% on Friday, reaching an intraday high of $187.50 before settling around $182. The move came after Aave Labs released a new governance proposal.

The proposal calls for a memberless foundation based in the Cayman Islands. It would hold the Aave trademark, related trademarks, and intellectual property tied to the protocol.

The entity could also hold primary domains and IP rights tied to service providers. The first phase only covers incorporation and appointing an independent director and supervisor.

Any transfer of trademarks, domains, or codebase would need further governance votes. The DAO would pay the incorporation and legal fees during this stage.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the plan would unify Aave’s assets under one token. He described it as part of the larger “Aave Will Win” framework.

AAVE Tokenholders Retain Governance Power

The foundation would not get a vote, veto, or advisory role in daily governance. Tokenholders would still decide on listings, parameters, budgets, and providers.

The DAO could appoint or remove directors through a formal proposal vote. It would also have final say on constitutional changes, IP sales, and any future winding-up.

The foundation would publish quarterly reports on its assets and legal matters. This keeps tokenholders informed about what the entity controls.

Short liquidations totaled about $350,000 across three exchanges during the rally. The move followed a recovery from around $60 in June.

Crypto analyst Crypto Patel posted a bullish outlook on the rally. He said AAVE is up 223% from its $57–$67 accumulation zone and pointed to $208, $355, and $1,000 as potential targets for the 2026–2027 cycle, based on a rounding-bottom chart pattern.

Technical Levels Point Toward $200

TradingView data showed AAVE trading at $181.66, up nearly 6% for the session. The price ranged between $170.77 and $187.50.

Daily MACD stayed positive, with the MACD line above the signal line. The 4-hour ADX reading climbed to 40.62, pointing to a strong trend.

CoinGlass data showed a liquidation cluster sitting just above the market near $188–$189. A break above that zone could trigger forced buying from short positions.

Below the market, clusters sit near $178–$180 and $167–$168. These mark zones where long positions could face liquidation on a pullback.

Analyst Michaël van de Poppe commented on the setup in a recent post. He said the current price structure looks similar to the pattern before AAVE’s late-2024 rally toward $400, and said he would not be surprised to see a similar move before year-end.

The rally followed news that Aave V4 added seven Coinbase tokenized stocks as collateral on Base. The market lets eligible non-U.S. users borrow USDC against tokens tied to Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla.

Kulechov also confirmed that a permanent token burn is under discussion for Aavenomics 3.0. Aave’s current buyback program has a $50 million annual budget, with purchased tokens currently going to the DAO’s reserve rather than being destroyed.
