Blockaid launched Bridge Sentinel, a decentralized verifier network (DVN) that brings real-time threat detection to LayerZero’s cross-chain interoperability infrastructure. The tool allows tokenized asset issuers to assess the security of cross-chain transactions before authorizing their execution.
Unlike verifiers that check message authenticity, Bridge Sentinel also assesses potential fraud risks. The system identifies addresses linked to stolen funds, sanctioned entities, active exploits, and wallet-draining infrastructure.
Issuers that designate Bridge Sentinel as a required verifier can block a transfer if Blockaid detects a threat and refuses to sign the message.
The tool also verifies that the original transactions occurred on the source blockchain, monitors token minting limits, and detects changes to smart contract administrative permissions.
According to LayerZero, issuers can establish policies to approve transactions, hold them for manual review, or reject them before execution.
According to Blockaid, Bridge Sentinel will be available for assets using LayerZero’s OFT standard, which allows issuers to select the verifiers required to validate transactions across different networks.
Blockaid joins LayerZero’s network of verification providers, which also includes Google Cloud, Deutsche Telekom MMS, and Fidelity Center for Applied Technology.
