  • Bitcoin (BTC) is trading in the $82.3K zone.
  • Short-term momentum is positive, while the long-term trend is recovering.

Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $82,324, with the volume settling at $26.63 billion. The price has ranged between $80,671 and $83,035 over the past 24 hours and $79,805 to $74,074 across the week. The asset closed the week below approximately $82,500.

It marked the May 2026 highs and served as a key continuation level in early 2025. That dual significance makes it a pivotal reaction zone on a chart. The daily close above the October downtrend was a technical positive, but it’s been immediately complicated by the weekly close below $82.5K.

If Bitcoin fails to reclaim that level on lower timeframes, particularly the daily, the downtrend break becomes difficult to act on. A weekly close below resistance technically repositions that level as new resistance rather than support.

Reclaim $82,500, and the bearish weekly close starts to look like a shakeout. Fail to do that, and the October downtrend break loses its significance entirely; price would be below the key level that would have confirmed continuation.

The last two times BTC compressed this tightly, it ran from $64K to $80K, then from $76K to $86K. Short-term bias sits bearish below $83,400, with price likely to stay under pressure within the current range before the next directional move develops.

What is Ahead for Bitcoin’s Momentum?

The Bitcoin price may challenge the $82,218 support if the bears turn stronger. A more intensified correction on the downside may initiate the formation of the death cross and drive the price toward $82.1K. Assuming the BTC bulls gain momentum, the price would climb to the resistance at around $82,401. The golden cross might emerge with potential bullish pressure, sending the price above $82.5K.

BTC’s MACD line sits above the zero line while the signal line remains below it, undergoing a fast-moving bullish shift. The short-term momentum has turned positive, and buyers are taking control. Also, the longer-term trend is still recovering from a recent bearish or weak period.

This divergence signals a powerful upward surge that is rapidly pulling the market out of a downtrend. Traders treat this early-stage setup as a strong buying opportunity before the signal line catches up and crosses zero to confirm a full trend reversal.

The daily RSI value at 54.65 is above the neutral 50, indicating a mild bullish bias with slight buyer control. This leaves ample room for price movement in either direction. Crossing above 50 signals that average upward price gains are currently outpacing downward losses.

As it is not an aggressive buy signal yet for Bitcoin, it suggests positive underlying strength and steady upward drift. Bulls hold a minor advantage, but a push past 60 is needed to confirm strong, sustained momentum.
