The Bitway token unlock falls due on November 2, 2026 at 08:00 UTC. The lock-up then ends for 101.6 million BTW, around 1.0 percent of the total supply of ten billion tokens. The date and the quantity are documented by three independent data providers, which name the same amount to within 0.006 percent. Our assessment follows further below: the date is firm, its effect on the price is not, and two of the most important figures around it stand in contradiction between the providers.
What counts first is the size relative to trading. Measured against the daily turnover the large data providers report for BTW, the tranche equals 26 to 34 trading days of volume. The token is also coming out of a sharp correction: from its all-time high of $2.77 on October 14, the price sits around 39 percent lower at the end of October, with a loss of some 27 percent over seven days. That correction is hitting the market broadly, and many cryptocurrencies gave ground in the same week, but for BTW the decline was far steeper than for the large coins.
The tranche on November 2: 101.6 million BTW out of lock-up
A token unlock means that tokens a project created at issuance but locked contractually become transferable on a set date. The tokens are not newly minted, they merely become tradable. That is precisely the distinction that counts in the market, because the available supply grows while demand stays as it was.
CoinMarketCap reports 101,628,455 BTW for November 2 and splits the tranche into two pools: 60,165,041 tokens from the community share and 41,463,415 from the ecosystem share, both released linearly. Tokenomics.com names 101,622,256 tokens for the same date. The gap between the two is 0.006 percent, in other words a rounding difference. In dollar terms that comes to between $172 million and $177 million depending on the price used.
Against the total supply the arithmetic is unambiguous: ten billion BTW is the cap, and 101.6 million of them are 1.02 percent. We checked that cap on the blockchain ourselves rather than taking it from a tracker: the BEP20 contract that Bitway lists as its official address in its own documentation reports exactly 10,000,000,000 tokens on BNB Chain. The one figure all providers agree on therefore also survives a direct check.
On the recipient the agreement ends, and this is where it gets important for holders. Whether a tranche goes to the community, to an ecosystem budget or to early investors decides how likely a sale is immediately after the unlock.
CoinMarketCap assigns the tranche 100 percent to the community and ecosystem pools. Tokenomics.com reports the same date as “community 100 percent”. The tracker Tokenomist.ai, by contrast, writes “released to backers” for November 2, meaning capital providers. Two providers are therefore saying no money from early investors. One says the opposite. We cannot resolve that contradiction, because the decisive source stays silent, and that belongs to the answer.
One verifiable pointer favours the first two: under the vesting structure published at Tokenomics.com, team and backers face a cliff of twelve months from the launch in March 2026. A cliff is a waiting period in which nothing at all is released; only afterwards does payout begin. The first tranche from those pools accordingly does not fall in November but in the spring of 2027. Anyone reading the unlock as an insider exit is, on that reading, reading it wrong.

The circulating supply is disputed: 1.5 against 2.9 billion BTW
The second gap in the data concerns the circulating supply, the number of tokens already freely tradable. That amount is the reference figure for every percentage and for the market capitalisation, and the providers are nearly a factor of two apart here.
CoinMarketCap carries around 2.91 billion BTW in circulation, Tokenomics.com around 2.71 billion, while CoinGecko has only around 1.51 billion. Tokenomist.ai names the same figure as CoinGecko and puts the unlocked share at 15.1 percent, while CoinMarketCap and Tokenomics.com sit at 27 to 29 percent. The factor between the highest and the lowest reading is 1.93.
That is not a decimal place, the valuation of the entire project hangs on it. On its own basis CoinMarketCap arrives at a market capitalisation of around $4.93 billion and ranks BTW 203rd; CoinGecko arrives at around $2.56 billion and at rank 41. A higher market capitalisation with a markedly worse rank is arithmetically impossible, so one of the two bases must be wrong. Worth noting here is that CoinMarketCap flags its supply figures as self-reported.
In practice that means: the tranche is 1.02 percent of the total supply, and every provider carries that figure. As a share of the circulating supply it is either 3.5 or 6.8 percent depending on the basis. We therefore use the share of total supply and state the range openly, rather than asserting a percentage that cannot be evidenced. How far the figures on BTW can diverge between venues we already measured on October 14, when the price on one venue sat 43 percent below that on another.
Fully diluted valuation: $17 billion against today’s market value
One metric puts the unlocks in context better than any snapshot of the price: the fully diluted valuation (FDV). It means what the project would be worth if all tokens were already in circulation: price times total supply. For BTW the FDV sits at around $17 billion, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap name that figure almost identically, because it hangs solely on the undisputed total supply.
The distance to today’s market value is where it gets interesting. Market capitalisation counts only the tokens already tradable: around $2.56 billion according to CoinGecko, around $4.93 billion according to CoinMarketCap. The FDV therefore stands at three to six times today’s market value. That is the real figure for understanding the unlocks: each of the 41 outstanding tranches pushes the circulating supply towards that total, and a wide gap between the two values means most of the supply is still to come. With Bitcoin, more than 95 percent of the supply has long been distributed; with BTW, not even 30 percent is reached on the most optimistic figures.
Vesting at Bitway: 49 unlocks from March 2026 to March 2030
November 2 is not a one-off event but a beat. Under the release schedule published at Tokenomics.com, vesting runs from the launch on March 2, 2026 to March 2, 2030, spread across 49 individual unlocks, so around 48 months. The start date is notable in itself: at launch, zero percent of the tokens were in circulation, and the entire supply has come into being over these eight months.
Every release falls on the second day of a month. After November come December 2 and January 2, with somewhat smaller shares of 3.4 and 3.3 percent measured against the market capitalisation. In total, 41 releases with around 7.09 billion tokens are still outstanding, almost 71 percent of the total supply. For holders, that is the real news behind the single date: the supply keeps growing at this rhythm for a good three more years.
Release amount against daily turnover: the ratio in trading days
Whether a release moves a price depends less on its absolute size than on the depth of the market meant to absorb it. The measure for that is simple: divide the value of the tranche by the daily turnover and you get how many trading days would be needed to turn over that amount at current volumes.
For Bitway (BTW) the providers report a trading volume of about $5.1 million to $6.7 million a day at the end of October, at a price around $1.70. At a tranche value of around $172 million that gives 26 to 34 trading days. For comparison it is worth looking at other dates in the same week: for releases such as EigenCloud’s on November 1 or Starknet’s on October 30, the same metric sits in the range of fractions of a trading day. Tranches like those disappear into ongoing trading; this one might not.
Thin trading works in both directions and affects you as soon as you buy or sell. With a narrow order book, even a mid-sized order moves the price, the gap between bid and ask widens, and execution deviates from the quoted price. If you want to trade BTW, a comparison of fees and trading pairs across crypto exchanges is therefore especially worthwhile, because with a token of this size spread, liquidity and the available trading pair differ considerably from venue to venue: at some exchanges you will find BTW only against stablecoins, not against euros. We made the same calculation for BTW back on October 11, then at a daily turnover of $24 million: turnover has fallen to a fraction of that since, while the release amount has stayed the same.
Seven releases since April: how the price reacted each time
Because Bitway has released every month since March, this token offers something new projects lack: a series of comparable cases. Tokenomics.com reports the sharpest price decline within the following 14 days for every past release. The picture is mixed, but it has a direction.
After the release of October 2 the price fell 26.4 percent within three days, after the one on April 2 it fell 28.6 percent within twelve days, after May 2 by 20.3 percent and after July 2 by 18.6 percent. In between sit dates on which almost nothing happened: minus 1.6 percent in September, minus 3.1 percent in June. And once, in August, the price rose 15 percent over the three days that followed. Across all eight reported releases the provider names an average of minus 7.3 percent, reached on average six days after the date.
Six of the seven individually reported dates therefore came with a decline, one with a gain. For holders with larger positions that series is the closest pointer the data allows. It is a pattern, not a law, and it is no use as a prediction: the sample is small, and general market moves fall into the same period that cannot be separated from the release. As a sense of scale the series is nonetheless more usable than any estimate.

The largest tranche comes in March 2027, not in November
Read the release schedule to the end and the real block sits elsewhere. The largest single release falls, according to Tokenomics.com, on March 2, 2027 and equals 2.2 percent of the total supply, around 6.7 percent measured against today’s market capitalisation. That is roughly double the November tranche.
That date lines up exactly with the end of the twelve-month cliff for team and backers. From that month the running monthly rate rises markedly, because the pools locked until then join the linear ones. For judging the November date that means: as things stand, it is not the date on which insiders could sell for the first time.
What the operator documentation offers and what it does not
The obvious place for a binding answer would be the project itself. The official documentation on the BTW token is publicly accessible too. It lists the two contract addresses on BNB Chain and Ethereum as well as the functions of the token: staking for preferred access to products, a raised yield on the Earn products and fee discounts, plus governance, meaning voting rights on decisions about protocol updates, economic terms and the use of funds.
A release schedule, a breakdown of the pools or a date for the next tranche is not in the documentation. The whitepaper filed there is marked as outdated by the project itself and carries no content on these questions. Every reliable figure on this date therefore comes from trackers, not from the operator. That is exactly why the contradictions over recipient and circulating supply persist so stubbornly: there is no place at which they could be resolved.
Our assessment: firm date, open effect
From the newsroom’s point of view, the date is the most solid part of this story and the price effect the least certain. The evidence speaks for that: date and quantity are confirmed by three providers, the total supply of ten billion is checked on the blockchain, and the ratio of 26 to 34 trading days is calculated from two independently collected turnover figures. Against it speaks everything concerning the outcome: the recipient is disputed between the providers, the circulating supply is a factor of 1.93 apart, and the seven past releases range from plus 15 to minus 28.6 percent.
What we find most remarkable is how poorly the state of the data matches the occasion. For a token valued in the billions of dollars it is unusual that two large providers disagree about half the circulating supply and that the operator documentation says nothing about the release schedule. For an investment decision that is the more important information than any forecast: a total loss is possible with a token of this size, and the uncertainty here begins with the basic figures.
Holding period and tax: BTW gains in Germany
If you change anything about your position before the date, the tax question arises immediately. In Germany cryptocurrencies count as other assets under Section 23 of the Income Tax Act. Sell at a profit within a year of buying and that profit is taxable as a private disposal, at your personal income tax rate. After a holding period of one year the gain is tax-free.
There is also the exemption threshold of €1,000 a year covering all private disposals together. If the sum of your gains sits below it, it stays tax-free; above it, the entire amount is taxable, not just the part above the line. The order of acquisitions matters, because BTW has only been tradable since March 2026 at the earliest: on a sale this year, the purchase necessarily falls within the one-year window. Which software brings together the acquisition dates per venue for the tax return is shown in our comparison of crypto tax tools and portfolio trackers.
Bitway release: seven trading days remain until November 2
The date is fixed, the data around it is not. Three steps help you use the week until then:
- Check the venue where your BTW sit. Spread, fees and available trading pairs differ sharply for a token with turnover this thin, and precisely that decides your execution price. Which platform offers which terms is set out in the comparison of crypto exchanges.
- Put together your own acquisition dates. Whether a sale would be taxable hangs solely on the purchase date per position. A tax tool or portfolio tracker brings purchases across several venues together.
- For a longer holding period, sort out custody. BTW sits on BNB Chain and on Ethereum, and both contract addresses are in the project’s documentation. Whoever holds for months is better off in self-custody; which devices are suitable is shown in the hardware wallet comparison.
