The cryptocurrency has crossed its 20-day moving average and is now trading towards a new high as traders assess its potential for continued gains.

Cryptocurrency analysts has noted the resemblance in the present structure of ADA and that of the 2020 accumulation stage, placing additional attention on the token’s longer-term technical setup.

According to MARKS, the level $2.90 seems to be a suitable long-term target due to the technical structure. However, it must be mentioned that the mentioned price target is not the confirmed price level but the projection of the analyst.

As for the more recent event, one can mention that the token managed to recover from its consolidation area. Specifically, the token was trading at $0.25502, which is the increase by 3.00%.

Technical Indicators Point to Rising Market Activity

TradingView chart data showed ADA trading around $0.25502 in late September, with the token up 3.00% over the cited period.

ADA has also moved above its 20-day Simple Moving Average at $0.22099 after spending an extended period near the $0.20 region. The token subsequently approached the recent chart high of $0.25835.

Based on the TradingView chart data, ADA is trading at $0.25502 in late September, having gained 3.00% during the mentioned period.

Above the 20-day SMA indicates a better short-term structure as compared to the consolidation period witnessed prior to this breakout. However, the level of $0.25835 still holds significance in the sense that breaking out above it will add further credibility to the current recovery.

ADA Derivatives Activity Increases

The latest price trend of ADA has also been complemented with increased action in the derivatives segment.

As reported by CoinGlass, the ADA derivatives volume grew 8.89% to $765.81 million, with the open interest up 8.57% to $612.64 million.

The rise in both volume and open interest implies increased participation in the derivatives markets of ADA during the most recent price movement. The higher levels of open interest also suggest that there are more trades being held by participants, thus making any future price movements more significant.

As ADA approaches its recent high, it will be important for traders to see if the increased participation holds as the price approaches $0.25835.

Cardano Infrastructure Development Adds Ecosystem Context

These market moves are accompanied by ongoing development within the Cardano ecosystem. Recently, Cardano announced Demeter.run, a platform aimed at making infrastructure accessible to Cardano developers without being reliant on just one infrastructure provider.

These issues are covered during a Developers Office Hour, where Santiago Carmuega, CEO of TxPipe, participated. Among the issues covered in the discussion were managed RPCs, open-source APIs, zero scaling costs, and Dolos integration soon.

The mentioned infrastructure updates don’t have any immediate influence on ADA’s price but help to understand the situation better regarding Cardano ecosystem updates. Moreover, better network infrastructure access could be useful for developers who build various projects using Cardano blockchain technology.

What Comes Next for ADA Price?

The technical structure of ADA in the near term is based around its $0.25835 highs. Any break higher than this level will increase focus on the retracement from the previous consolidation range, whereas a failure will bring the focus back to its 20-day SMA at $0.22099.

It is important to remember that the $2.90 price target as noted by JAVON MARKS is based on technical projections over a much longer timeframe and not an expected outcome. For the upcoming weeks and months, the capacity for ADA to trade above its moving average, derivatives activity, and price above the recent high would serve as an indicator.

Additionally, ongoing work on Cardano’s infrastructure provides another thing to watch out for in addition to the price and derivatives activity.
