Wealth management technology provider OneVest this month launched what the Toronto fintech describes as “Canada’s first agentic account opening solution.”
Canada’s Client Focused Reforms have raised regulatory standards to protect investors, but updating legacy systems is a high-friction task, fraught with manual administration and data entry.
OneVest’s new AI agent solves this burden by orchestrating the account onboarding lifecycle end-to-end, from initial client intake through to account funding, while ensuring wealth management professionals maintain full visibility and control.
“Account opening has long been one of the biggest operational bottlenecks for wealth management firms, pulling advisors away from serving their clients,” says Amar Ahluwalia, chief executive officer of OneVest.
“We built this AI agent to eliminate that effort,” Ahluwalia said.
OneVest’s agentic account opening solution connects natively with major Canadian custodial institutions such as the National Bank Independent Network, Aviso Wealth, and CI Investment Services, with additional custodial integrations underway.
“By intelligently handling data intake, pre-checking applications, and coordinating status updates across custodial channels, our agent removes redundant manual work so advisors and ops teams can focus on delivering outstanding value to investors,” Ahluwalia said.
The solution “represents a major leap forward from basic digital forms to true, agentic workflow execution,” according to the CEO.
For operational transparency, actions taken by the AI agent are logged through OneVest Pulse, a centralized activity feed and governance log.
Pulse provides compliance officers and advisors with an immutable audit trail and real-time visibility into every onboarding milestone.
OneVest most recent integration is with Schwab Advisor Center, bringing automated account opening directly into its Workspace wealth operating system.
Advisors using OneVest can now initiate Schwab account opening, send a secure digital envelope to an end-client to eApprove, and track approval without leaving the OneVest platform.
The future of wealth management “will be built by firms that embrace an agentic operating system to elevate their people, or it will be built without them,” Nathan Di Lucca, Chief Technology Officer of OneVest, posited in March.
Last year, OneVest secured a $27M Series B round from a slew of investors before refreshing their brand.
