Anchorage Digital has partnered with Securitize to bring federally issued stablecoins into the tokenization lifecycle and transition to bank-supervised settlement for on-chain securities. Through the partnership, Securitize will mint and redeem the stablecoins via a partnership with federally chartered Anchorage Digital Bank, which will also provide custody and settlement.

A single regulated bank is now directly at the center of the process from mint to redemption with no intermediaries.

Expansion of stablecoin settlement comes as tokenized real world assets continue to gain institutional traction with firm such as BlackRock Apollo KKR, Hamilton Lane, BNY, and VanEck all working on Securitize infrastructure. Securitize tokenized more than 4 billion dollars of real world assets in its system, a measure of the widespread adoption being built on a compliant settlement infrastructure.

Key Players

Anchorage Digital Bank is a federally chartered trust bank regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Securitize is the leading tokenization platform for real world assets. Anchorage has been a federally chartered crypto bank since 2021, issuing stablecoins under OCC supervision. Securitize gives issuance, transfer agency, and secondary trading infrastructure for tokenized funds.

Enabling direct minting and redemption with Anchorage Digital Bank eliminates reliance on external stablecoin issuers or payment intermediaries for dollar settlement. As custody and settlement are provided by the same bank, this creates a closed-loop system.

For institutions, this reduces counterparty fragmentation, improves auditability, and makes settlement conform to compliance expectations embedded in the GENIUS Act, which became law in July 2025 and takes reserve, anti money laundering, and customer identification requirements from permissible payment stablecoin issuers.

Why This Matters for Market Structure

For market participants, the connection from fiat to tokenized exposure is now more direct: you can buy Securitize tokens through traditional intermediaries and settle in a federally issued stablecoin within the same institutional custody structure. For developers and exchanges, it’s a reminder that compliant dollar rails are increasingly likely to be built atop chartered bank licenses rather than offshore issuers.

For regulators, it’s a case study on how stablecoin regulation creates operational infrastructure. The context is competitive. Tether Circle bank issued alternatives like Anchorage backed tokens USAT, USDGO, and USDPT are racing to be the settlement currency for institutional on-chain activity.

Anchorage has also chosen LayerZero as an interoperability partner for bank issued stablecoins in an effort to interconnect those assets across 170 blockchain networks. This approach complements the Securitize integration by bringing federally issued liquidity to multiple platforms.

Opportunities, Limitations, and The Road Ahead

The integration does not lessen risk. Transferred securities are still subject to transfer restrictions, certain investor qualifications, and limited secondary market liquidity; stablecoin settlement introduces operational and smart contract risk as well as banking risk; and widespread adoption hinges on asset managers, broker dealers, and custodians’ willingness to settle through a single bank and limit issuer settlement options.

Future steps include widened stablecoin liquidity on securitized secondary markets, activation of cross-platform interoperability for Anchorage issued tokens, and regulatory clarification about GENIUS Act oversight of bank led settlement workflows. If this model gains momentum, it could inspire other tokenization platforms to implement similar practices for global, institutional dollar settlement, and preserve OCC supervised bank access to the institutional digital asset economy.
