Aptos [APT] has introduced Confidential APT on its mainnet, making the platform more suitable for business and institutional use. But has the announcement helped native token price?

What is Confidential APT and how does it work?

Aptos has launched Confidential APT on its mainnet, introducing an optional privacy layer for APT transactions. The feature allows users to hide their token balances and transaction amounts, while keeping the sender and receiver addresses visible on the blockchain.

In simple terms, people can still see who is involved in a transaction, but they cannot see how much APT was transferred or how much a wallet holds.

Confidential APT uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify that private transactions are valid without revealing the underlying figures. This helps the network confirm that users have enough funds and that no tokens are being duplicated, even when the amount remains hidden.

The feature also supports selective disclosure. Users can choose to share private transaction details with specific parties, such as auditors, regulators, business partners, or internal finance teams.

The idea is to mainly service enterprise use cases like payroll, treasury operations, corporate transfers, and B2B payments. These are areas where businesses may want to use blockchain infrastructure without publicly exposing salaries, account balances, or payment sizes.

Importantly, the feature is not mandatory. Users who prefer fully transparent transactions can continue using Aptos as before.

APT price reaction remains muted

The update will certainly add to Aptos’ enterprise story; however, it doesn’t seem to be doing much for native token’s price as it stands.

APT was trading near $0.573 on the one-hour chart at press time; this was briefly after testing the $0.58 area. The RSI proved balanced pace with minimal buying pressure.

OBV was also weak, so the recent rise was not backed by a clear increase in demand.

Final Summary

  • Confidential APT expands Aptos’ enterprise capabilities by introducing optional privacy for balances and transaction amounts.
  • The upgrade has yet to translate into stronger buying demand, with APT remaining below the $0.58 resistance area.
