Why Are ETF Inflows Supporting Bitcoin Price?

According to the recently published earnings data from SoSoValue, pointed out that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs raked in a net sum of $128.69 million on August 6, resulting in a total inflow of $52.08 billion to date.

As such, total net assets reached $78.77 billion, which is a sign that investors are not afraid to increase their stake in the asset even though Bitcoin remains below its most recent high.

It is now the fourth trading day in a row of net inflow, giving more evidence that institutional investors are firm in their commitment towards Bitcoin.

Wu Blockchain highlighted the latest ETF developments in an X post, stating that Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded “$129 million in net inflows and “four straight days of inflows.

At the same time, Ethereum spot ETFs attracted $92.15 million in net inflows, marking three consecutive days of positive flows.

This news is important because ETF inflow statistics are now treated as one of the clearest indicators of institutional sentiment. Four straight days of inflows suggest that large investors continue buying Bitcoin despite the lack of a major price breakout.

What Does the Bitcoin Price Chart Show?

According to the TradingView daily chart, Bitcoin is currently trading at $64,223, holding comfortably above the key support at $60,817 while still below the key resistance area at $73,331.

The MACD remains in bearish territory, but the histogram has started to flatten, suggesting that bearish momentum is gradually fading.

Trading volume has also returned to normal after the sharp decline in June, indicating that selling pressure has eased while buyers continue defending the key support level.

Why Are Bitcoin Derivatives Staying Strong?

According to CoinGlass, the derivatives market for Bitcoin remains active despite the recent consolidation.

In recent days, the average daily trading volume has ranged between $40 billion and $70 billion, while open interest remained stable at around $48–50 billion, suggesting that traders are holding existing positions rather than rushing to exit the market.

Liquidation data also shows no widespread wave of forced selling, indicating that leverage remains relatively balanced.

Combined with the latest ETF inflows, these derivatives metrics suggest traders are waiting for the market’s next catalyst rather than positioning for a sharp decline.

Can Bitcoin Price Break Above $73K?

Bitcoin’s technical backdrop continues to improve, but buying pressure has not yet become strong enough for bulls to gain complete control of the trend. Steady spot ETF inflows continue to provide institutional support, while stable derivatives positioning reflects steady trader confidence.

If bulls reclaim the level around $73,331, it could strengthen the case for further upside. Conversely, if Bitcoin falls below $60,817, it may face another round of selling pressure.

At this stage, steady ETF inflows, resilient derivatives activity, and improving technical signals suggest Bitcoin remains in a consolidation phase. The next major move will likely depend on whether buyers can build enough momentum to push the price above key resistance.
