BitGo Aptos Network Integration has gone a notch higher in terms of developments, as BitGo (BTGO) Holdings provides its institutional customers with WalletConnect to enable them to trade on the decentralized exchange Decibel, which is based on the Aptos network.

The new integration makes it unnecessary for institutional customers to move their assets into another wallet before trading on Decibel. On the other hand, institutions are now able to interact with Decibel by connecting their self-custody MPC wallets through WalletConnect.

BitGo Aptos Network Support Brings Institutional Wallets to Decibel

BitGo Aptos Network integration links the institutional wallet ecosystem provided by BitGo with Decibel via WalletConnect. Users will be able to perform transactions through Decibel once they connect their wallets.

The transactions will be processed using BitGo’s multi-party computation, also known as MPC, technology and the wallet policy engine. In doing so, institutions can use their current control mechanisms on decentralized trading platforms.

The BitGo system also remains compatible with capabilities like address whitelisting and multi-signature transactions. This functionality will still be enabled while transactions are being executed, providing institutions with more control over the authorization process.

Institutions Can Keep Assets in Existing Wallets

One of the key advantages of incorporating the BitGo Aptos Network is that institutions will not need to alter their current custody structures to use Decibel.

Assets may stay inside the BitGo-linked self-custody wallet when users are utilizing Decibel, hence eliminating the requirement to move the assets into a different wallet just to access the decentralized markets.

When it comes to institutional customers, following the already existing approval process is essential since the transaction will need approval from several entities. BitGo’s integration ensures that this continues despite connecting with decentralized applications.

BitGo Plans to Expand Network Support

For the BitGo Aptos Network, the rollout process will see the introduction of wallet integration via Ethereum and Solana in the first phase. BitGo also added that the support might be expanded to more networks in the future.

This could enable clients to have access to more decentralized apps without setting up wallets on different networks separately.

Decibel, built on top of Aptos, provides spot and perpetual markets using its decentralized exchange platform. Using BitGo wallets in combination with Decibel gives users access to these markets while having custody of their assets and maintaining their wallet settings.

BitGo Aptos Network development emphasizes the increasing trend of linking self-custody architecture with DeFi platforms. With more institutions entering the on-chain marketplaces, the integration that preserves internal authorization mechanisms can help them to join in without compromising their current security framework.
