Worldcoin, like many altcoins in the market, seemed to be recovering from its recent dip at press time. In fact, WLD bounced back from a $0.46 slip, defended the $0.5 support, and rose to a local high of $0.54.
At the time of writing, Worldcoin was trading at around $0.52, marking a 6.5% hike on the daily charts. The price hike was supported by strong buying pressure too, with the same backed by the turnover numbers.
According to Coinank, the altcoin’s daily turnover rose to $174 million, marking an increase of over $15 million in just 24 hours.
Three major reasons why Worldcoin is showing bullish momentum
Analysts have pointed out various factors that have fueled Worldcoin’s rebound. Lucky, for instance, attributed the surge to South Korean retail FOMO and short squeeze. He pointed to Kimchi premium mania, noting that domestic trading volume in South Korea surged to reach 26x of global share.
Secondly, the analyst noted that the recent price hike triggered short liquidations on Binance, Bybit, and OKX.
The third factor driving the market is AI hype and the technological roadmap. The market saw renewed speculation around Sam Altman’s AI agent verification tools and human-centred socials.
In fact, another analyst posited that the new World ID was observed within OpenAI’s ecosystem, sparking speculation about the first ChatGPT wallet. Finally, Takumatoshi posited that it is now particularly possible to prove identity inside OpenAI’s tools.
Is demand returning to derivatives?
With Worldcoin capturing market attention again, investors have increased capital deployment for strategic positioning. As a result, demand returned to the derivatives market again.
According to Coinglass, Worldcoin’s Open Interest rose by 14.7% to $543 million while the derivatives volume climbed by 86% to $1.1 billion. A hike in OI alongside volume might allude to greater market participation as traders open new positions.

Meanwhile, the Long Short Ratio jumped above 1 across all tracked exchanges, suggesting that these traders were mostly bullish.
With demand returning to the derivatives, it pivoted on already existing spot demand. Interestingly, even when the market crashed, the Spot Netflow remained negative.

The metric has remained negative for nine consecutive days, reflecting a sustained market demand.
Can WLD maintain its recovery?
As demand returned to the market, the market momentum has been gradually flipping bullish. When we look at the Stochastic Momentum Index, the indicator formed a bullish crossover and rose to -17.
The crossover pointed to improving market conditions. However, the indicator was in the negative zone at press time, suggesting bears continued to dominate the market.

At these levels, the SMI suggested that buying activity was yet to be significant enough to inspire a trend reversal. The Trend Strength Index (TSI) confirmed this view as it also sat within the negative zone.
With both the SMI and TSI negative and rising, it meant that although buyers tried, sellers remained dominant.
When these indicators are set at such levels, it means the next move depends on which side shows greater determination.
Therefore, if recovering demand holds, it will help Worldcoin flip $0.58 and target its key resistance at $0.61. For this bullish outlook to hold, WLD must close above $0.5. Otherwise, it could crash to $0.45.
Final Summary
- Worldcoin [WLD] surged by 6%, successfully defended $0.5, and rose to a local high of $0.54.
- Worldcoin rallied amid a recovery in speculation around AI agent verification tools and human-centred socials.
