Carla Jeffery, who starred in a recurring role in Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as Disney’s Zombies movies and animated series, has died.
Jeffery’s representative, Alexanders Talent Management, announced on Instagram on Wednesday that the actress died on Tuesday. Jeffery’s cause of death was not disclosed. She was 33.
“Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Carla Jeffery,” Alexanders Talent Management’s post reads. “For more than 20 years, Carla was part of the Alexanders Talent Management family, and watching her grow from a talented young girl into the beautiful, vibrant woman and actress she became was an incredible privilege.
“We will remember her infectious smile, her laughter, her talent, and the beautiful light she carried everywhere she went,” the post added.
Jeffery played Keysha Black, the daughter of Loretta Black (Vivica A. Fox), in a recurring role across 10 episodes over Seasons 6 and 7 in Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2007 and 2009.
In 2018, Jeffery played Bree in the original Disney Channel family adventure-horror movie Zombies. She reprised the role for Zombies 2 in 2020 and Zombies 3 in 2022. In addition, Jeffery voiced the role of Bree in the animated Zombies: The Reanimated Series series, which ran on Disney Channel/Disney+ for two seasons in 2024 and 2026.

Carla Jeffery Had More Than 30 Screen Credits
Born Carla Jaran Jeffery on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Jeffery’s made her screen debut in the 2006 Mo’Nique comedy Phat Girls, where she played the 10-year-old version of Mo’Nique’s character, Jazmin Biltmore.
After appearing in bit roles in the series Miss Guided in 2008, and iCarly and Lie to Me in 2009, Jeffery landed a recurring role as Janila on the police procedural Southland, where she appeared in four episodes in the series’ first season in 2010.
Following her recurring turn as Keysha Black in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jeffery appeared in guest roles in such series as Men of a Certain Age, Good Luck Charlie, Torchwood, Suburgatory, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Uncle Buck and Scream Queens.
In 2017, Jeffery played a recurring role in the Netflix true-crime satire/mockumentary, American Vandal, and in 2020, she appeared in a guest voice role as Mania in the animated series Spider-Man.
Jeffery’s film credits included a supporting role in Keegan-Michael Key’s 2014 comedy-drama Teacher of the Year, as well as supporting turns in the 2015 family drama Girl on the Edge and the 2020 drama Puzzled.
