Chainlink price is consolidating around $11.39 after a significant August rally, while high trading volumes, elevated open interest and a fresh Chainlink post keep traders focused on the $12 resistance level.

At the time of writing, Chainlink is trading at $11.389, up 2.20% over the past 24 hours. The token has gained 38.3% in August as part of a continued rise that began in July, when LINK increased by 13.5%.

Based on the TradingView chart, there has been an improvement in the technical setup for Chainlink. LINK remains above its 20-day EMA at $10.715, while the 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs stand at $9.691, $9.254 and $9.768, respectively.

This price structure supports the bullish path as LINK continues to trade above its major moving averages. The $9.363 level acts as an important support area, with stronger support located around $8.137.

LINK recently moved above the $12 mark but retreated toward the $11 territory. The current consolidation suggests that traders are weighing whether buyers can regain enough strength to challenge the resistance again.

An extended move above $12 would provide additional strength to the bullish setup, while another rejection could bring LINK toward the $10.715 EMA.

According to the CoinGlass data, open interest increased significantly during August, rising from approximately $400 million to more than $700 million before declining to about $620 million.

This shows that derivatives activity increased alongside the price rally. The subsequent decline indicates that some open positions were reduced as LINK moved away from its highs, although the data does not establish that liquidations were responsible.

How Does the Latest Chainlink Post Matter?

The official Chainlink account posted “Chainlink: The zero to one enabler.” on August 31. The accompanying graphic compares the blockchain ecosystem before and after Chainlink, showing a much more connected network in the latter illustration.

The message adds a broader ecosystem angle to LINK’s recent market strength, although it does not provide a specific price catalyst.

What Should Traders Watch Next?

Trading volume also increased during August, with several daily spikes above $1 billion. While volume has declined from its highest levels, LINK continues to hold above its major moving averages.

The immediate focus remains $12. A breakout could put the recent $12.60 high back into focus, while failure to break above resistance could make $10.715 and $9.363 important levels to monitor.
