On Sunday, September 6, 2026, VnExpress-Vietnam News reported that Chinese actress Jing Tian was seen visiting a beauty spa amidst a high-profile legal battle with her former boyfriend, crypto billionaire Justin Sun. The dispute, which involves a claim of US$4.2 million, has garnered significant public attention.
Photos circulated by Sina Entertainment depicted Jing arriving at the spa in casual attire, wearing a hat and face mask, and accompanied by an assistant. These images quickly became a trending topic on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, sparking varied reactions from users regarding her seemingly relaxed demeanor. Some users questioned her public appearance, while others interpreted it as an attempt to project innocence.
The controversy intensified in late August when Sun, the founder of the TRON blockchain network, initiated a lawsuit against Jing and her parents. The lawsuit seeks the recovery of 30 million yuan (approximately US$4.2 million), which reports describe as a betrothal or dowry payment. Forbes estimates Sun’s net worth at US$8.5 billion.
Sun has publicly detailed aspects of their past relationship, alleging that marriage and surrogacy were discussed. He further claimed that Jing demanded an additional US$50 million prior to an egg-retrieval procedure, which he stated led him to end the relationship after consulting an artificial intelligence chatbot.
When questioned about labeling his public statement as “fiction,” Sun explained that while most of the content reflected his thoughts, he used the term “fiction” due to an inability to guarantee the absolute accuracy of all details, emphasizing that he was sharing his perspective and doubts. He also expressed uncertainty regarding the AI’s judgment and the correctness of his own decisions at the time.
Jing Tian has refuted any suggestion that financial motives influenced her relationships. She stated on Weibo, “I have not in the past, do not now, and will not in the future ever sell my love for money, let alone my soul.” She added, “I still believe in love but my judgment in men is still poor, and I am still lacking in wisdom. In the end, I believe in the law, I believe in kindness, and I believe there will ultimately be justice and fairness. Time will prove everything.”
Jing’s management agency announced that they would address the dispute through legal channels and would refrain from responding to further allegations publicly. The studio stated, “Reputation is the life of an artist, but also an artist’s vulnerability. However, we have enough courage to say ‘No’ to those who exploit this to pressure artists. We trust the law and will follow legal procedures to handle the matter.” Future updates regarding the case are expected to be limited to formal legal developments.
Justin Sun, a Chinese-born Grenadian citizen who founded TRON in 1990, also serves as an advisor to the digital asset exchange HTX and previously represented Grenada at the World Trade Organisation.
