Brian Armstrong, Coinbase’s CEO, has tipped Bitcoin to reach $400,000 by the end of the decade, describing the price point as a ‘reasonable target’ for the cryptocurrency. Armstrong noted that BTC may have reached the bottom of its latest market downturn, predicting a bullish forecast for the premier cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin to trade at $400,000 by 2030, says Brian Armstrong
The Coinbase CEO made the comments during an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box, where he predicted the next two years to be positive for Bitcoin. In his market outlook, Armstrong noted that a $400,000 price for BTC by 2030 is not outlandish, laying the blueprint for the asset to reach the milestone.

Armstrong pointed to Bitcoin’s four-year market cycles as the basis for his price outlook. According to Armstrong, Bitcoin’s price has reached the bottom for this market cycle, pointing to historical data from previous market declines.
“I personally believe that the bottom is in on Bitcoin in this most recent cycle,” said Armstrong.
Bitcoin was trading at just under the $80,000 mark when Armstrong made his predictions. A leap to $400,000 per BTC will require a fivefold increase from current levels over four years.
This is not the first time Brian Armstrong has made bullish long-term predictions for Bitcoin’s price. Back in August, Armstrong discussed a $300,000 to $400,000 Bitcoin range for 2030.
The latest target also marks a more conservative outlook than Armstrong’s previous multi-million Bitcoin prediction in the future. In 2025, he argued that Bitcoin can reach $1 million by the end of the decade, citing regulatory developments, institutional adoption, and rising demand for Bitcoin.
Armstrong believes regulation can unlock institutional demand
Armstrong also remains focused on regulatory developments in the US, particularly the proposed CLARITY Act.
He noted that the legislation can help unlock institutional capital and enable products such as tokenized equities and perpetual futures in the US market. Armstrong also expects greater regulatory clarity even if the legislation does not pass, pointing to potential action from the SEC and the CFTC.

Among pundits, there is a consensus that sustained capital into Bitcoin will fuel the rally to six figures for the cryptocurrency. Experts are keeping their eyes peeled on spot Bitcoin ETF inflows, while others have their sights on macroeconomic indicators for signs of capital inflows to BTC.
The Coinbase founder is not the only one with a long-term bullish outlook for Bitcoin. Early in the year, ARK Invest predicted BTC price to hover between $950,000 and $1 million by the end of the decade.
Other personalities like Arthur Hayes and Michael Saylor have made similar predictions for Bitcoin’s price by 2030. However, Bitcoin is facing resistance at the $83K to $86K range, casting doubt over the chances for a rally in September.
