Coins.ph Chief Executive Officer Wei Zhou has been named to the 2026 Stablecoins Influential List by Stablecon, a global platform dedicated to the stablecoin and digital payments sector.

Zhou was selected under the Exchanges, On/Off Ramps, and Consumer Access category. Honorees were selected through an evaluation process assessing ecosystem influence, impact and reach, innovation, momentum, and peer recognition.

Operations and Last-Mile Infrastructure

According to the company, Coins.ph utilizes stablecoins including USDT and USDC to facilitate cross-border payments, digital remittances, and merchant transactions. The platform operates as a disbursement partner for global Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) to route cross-border fund settlements to local bank accounts, e-wallets, and physical cash-out locations.

“For years, we’ve focused on making stablecoins accessible, reliable, and practically free to move,” Zhou said in a statement. “Whether it is enabling someone to buy their morning coffee via QRPh using USDT or acting as the trusted last-mile bridge for OFW families—we are committed to building a low-friction financial gateway.”

To support consumer awareness, Coins.ph has conducted regional roadshow activities across major urban areas in the Philippines to demonstrate stablecoin utility.

Recent Platform Developments

The recognition follows several operational announcements from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider:

  • Asset Support and Retail Features: Coins.ph added Bitget Token ($BGB) to its Convert feature, expanding its catalog of over 170 supported digital assets.
  • National QR Framework: The company integrated its crypto payment system with the national QRPh standard, enabling users to spend Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, and USDC across an estimated 700,000 merchants nationwide.
  • European Corridor: Coins.ph partnered with UK-based payment infrastructure provider Clear Junction to offer virtual IBANs and access to SEPA, SEPA Instant, and Faster Payments networks for EUR and GBP transfers.
