GTA 6 hype is being exploited as Malwarebytes revealed a fake leak site targeting crypto wallets with a multi-chain drainer, showing how cybercriminals are turning anticipation for Rockstar Games’ latest title into a costly trap for crypto users.
How the Fake Leak Site Works
The website looks like a fan-made countdown and uses real GTA 6 promotional content, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S details mixed with fraudulent ads for a leaked game copy for $50 or 1 SOL ($102 at the time of writing). The fraudsters also warned that they have seen many other leak sites that turned out to be scams.
Malwarebytes experts pointed out that several inconsistencies are present on the website, such as the footer claiming there are no purchases, PC download promises being contradictory, and some typos that appear references GTA IV. The site operators were found to be hiding two malicious blocks within the payment section.

Multi-Chain Drainer and Technical Impact
The fake GTA 6 leak site runs two malicious scripts – the first targets Solana wallets, siphoning off funds while leaving just enough for transaction fees, while the second disguises itself as a genuine wallet-connection tool to drain multiple chains, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, and Fantom.
Once users authorize the transactions on the fake GTA 6 leak site, they stand to lose their entire wallet balance. The method is identical to previous fraudulent early-access and Extended-Look GTA 6 pages.
