Eole Adds HYPE Beside Bitcoin as Neo Crypto Bank Strategy Grows

Japan’s corporate crypto market is moving beyond bitcoin and ether.

Eole Inc., listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Growth market, bought 1,078 HYPE on July 28 for $66,002 (¥10.08 million). The average purchase price was $57.15 (¥9,352) per token.

The company described the transaction as the first publicly disclosed HYPE purchase by a listed Japanese business, based on its review of corporate filings. It plans to increase the position through several purchases by the end of August, bringing its total investment to $611,113 (¥100 million).

HYPE Joins Eole’s ‘Neo Crypto Bank’ Strategy

HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a blockchain network focused on onchain derivatives and trading.

Eole will hold the token alongside bitcoin as a strategic asset under its “Neo Crypto Bank” initiative. The company launched the concept in October 2025 to develop financial infrastructure for an economy where artificial intelligence agents can make payments and enter contracts.

The investment is “not merely speculation for the purpose of capital gains,” Eole said. It added that holding HYPE is not merely a matter of fund management, but part of an effort to strengthen its onchain finance and Web3 businesses.

Eole said it may generate revenue by lending digital assets and hedging price risks through traditional financial (TradFi) markets. It will also explore connecting the holdings with its own services. The company plans to expand beyond a single cryptocurrency as it builds products around automated, smart contract-based finance.

Quantum Solutions Converts Ether Into AI Capital

Eole’s purchase comes as another Japanese corporate crypto holder moves in the opposite direction.

Quantum Solutions said its GPT Pals Studio subsidiary sold 1,000 ETH on July 30 for about $1.9 million. The proceeds will support its AI infrastructure operations, including data centers.

The transaction was Quantum’s second ether sale and lifted total disposals to 1,904 ETH. Its remaining balance fell to 4,764.80 ETH, about 29% below its peak holdings.

Quantum also raised its cumulative sales limit from 1,875 ETH to 4,375 ETH. That leaves room to sell another 2,471 ETH, equal to roughly 52% of its current position, although it has not committed to using the full authorization.

The contrasting decisions show how Japan’s corporate crypto strategy is fragmenting. Eole is using digital assets to support an onchain finance thesis, while Quantum is turning its treasury into capital for the AI buildout.
