Ethereum’s price climbed 4.80% over 24 hours, reaching $2,752.53. The move pushed ETH closer to the $2,800 resistance zone and renewed talk of a run toward $3,000.

The wider crypto market gained 5.23%, bringing total market value to $2.91 trillion. Bitcoin briefly touched $86,000, an eight-month high, adding roughly $568 billion to its own market value.

The Crypto Fear and Greed Index rose to 79. That marks a shift from the deep pessimism recorded back in February.

Institutional Buying Continues

BitMine added another 27,562 ETH last week, continuing a buying pattern it has kept up since June 30, 2025. The firm now holds 5,983,940 ETH, close to 5% of Ethereum’s total supply.

Not every signal pointed up. US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $140 million in weekly outflows, ending four straight weeks of inflows. That outflow was later followed by $143.8 million in net inflows on Friday, ending a three-day losing streak.

Derivatives Activity Rises

Ether derivatives trading picked up alongside the spot price. Trading volume rose 78.93% to $74.55 billion, while open interest increased 6.48% to $36.69 billion.

Options volume jumped 79.13% to $2.14 billion. About $648 million in bearish positions were liquidated as Bitcoin’s rally triggered a short squeeze.

Analyst Ted (@TedPillows) noted on X that ETH closed last week above $2,550 and was still climbing. He wrote that Ethereum could reach the $2,900 to $3,000 range before facing a correction.

The Relative Strength Index sits at 76.58, a level considered overbought. The Chaikin Money Flow reading of 0.40 still points to steady capital inflows.

Ethereum’s earlier dip below $2,400 followed the Clarity Act’s failure to advance in the Senate and a Federal Reserve rate hike. Buyers stepped in near the realized price of $2,310, pushing ETH back above $2,700.

Exchange netflow data shows deposits outpacing withdrawals in recent days, a sign some investors are selling into the gains. The Coinbase Premium Index has turned upward but remains in negative territory.

The Taker Buy Sell Ratio flipped bearish on Monday after trending positive over the weekend. Ethereum saw $224.7 million in liquidations over 24 hours, with $191 million coming from short positions.

On the daily chart, ETH trades above its 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day EMAs. Resistance sits at $2,786, followed by $2,894 and $3,177, while support holds near $2,626, $2,544, and the 20-day EMA at $2,537.
