After a 5-year career, Ethereum Foundation researcher Francesco D’Amato announced his departure from the organization. His exit aims to immediately join Ethlabs, a recently created organization dedicated exclusively to the research and development of blockchain infrastructure and scalability protocols.

During his fruitful tenure at the Ethereum Foundation, D’Amato led critical research for the network. His work covered areas of vital importance for protocol efficiency, including the mitigation and optimization of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV), advanced consensus mechanisms, Data Availability Sampling (DAS), and execution-layer pricing models. His addition to Ethlabs marks a strategic move that could accelerate decentralization solutions outside the EF structure.

With this transition, the community anticipates close collaboration in open research between both entities. The next step for Ethlabs will be to consolidate its technical team and present its first infrastructure optimization proposals for the Ethereum mainnet.
