Ethereum has seen its liquidity conditions on Binance increasingly weaken as its Liquidity Shock Z-Score has also dropped significantly to a multi-month low.
While the decline comes after several months of fluctuations in the indicator, the sharp drop seen recently has drawn attention from market analysts.
Binance Z-Score Falls to -1.00
According to recent data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant, the Ethereum Binance Liquidity Shock Z-Score has fallen to about -1.00, its lowest reading in nearly seven months.
The sharp drop in Ethereum’s liquidity comes months after the indicator experienced consistent volatility, constantly fluctuating since the early months of 2026.
Notably, it recorded higher positive readings early in the year before dropping sharply in February and has remained volatile since then.
Although the liquidity indicator gradually recovered and increased again during the summer, the indicator saw a sudden reversal in October, falling to its current level.
Following the decline, Ethereum liquidity activity on Binance is now below its usual level compared with the indicator’s historical average.
What This Means for Ethereum
It is important to note that the sharp drop in the liquidity level does not automatically mean that traders are exiting their positions or investors are selling their ETH.
Rather, this typically indicates that liquidity conditions have changed, without necessarily indicating which direction the price will move next.
While the indicator has also coincided with Ethereum’s shrinking supply on exchanges, it appears that investors are moving their holdings out of exchanges into private wallets.
This could trigger upside momentum for Ethereum as it suggests that investors are moving their tokens to private wallets to hold for the longer term.
