The Copilot app now enables multiple AI-driven agent sessions connected to specific projects. This approach streamlines development tasks by automatically providing repository context for code updates, bug fixes, and feature enhancements. Developers can describe changes they want to implement, and the app will locate relevant files, make updates, and run tests to validate the changes.

An example use case highlighted by GitHub involves adding a breadcrumb navigation component to an existing application. Instead of manually identifying the files, developers can rely on Copilot to pinpoint the necessary files and execute the update, significantly reducing preparation time.

Interactive Canvases for UI Development

For frontend developers, the app introduces interactive “canvases,” where UI changes can be previewed directly within the workflow. A new “Canvas Dev Mode” feature allows users to select specific elements for further updates, making the process highly interactive.
