GTA VI Hacker Cashing Out Crypto

The mysterious figure behind the recent Grand Theft Auto VI leaks has already moved roughly $350,000 out of the operation. The money was apparently generated primarily by providing liquidity for the CYBERLEEK token and collecting trading fees.

The blockchain trail shows that Cyberleek did not need to sell the bulk of the original liquidity to profit. 

Instead, the leaker appears to have designed an incentive loop in which the GTA VI footage generated attention, attention generated trading volume, and trading volume generated fees.

Earlier this year, an account using the name Cyberleek began distributing previously unseen Grand Theft Auto VI footage online.

The first clips showed relatively mundane gameplay involving Jason. Other clips followed, displaying elements of driving, combat, NPC interactions and so on. 

Rockstar had tightly controlled GTA VI’s official marketing campaign with its plan to release an “Extended Look” presentation scheduled for late August. 

Cyberleek began releasing material from what appeared to be an in-development build just days before Rockstar’s planned presentation.

Each release was part of a broader campaign built around the Solana-based CYBERLEEK cryptocurrency. 

Blockchain researchers have traced the CYBERLEEK token’s launch to Aug. 15.

The identity of the person controlling those wallets also remains unproven publicly.

Once the fee withdrawal became public, CYBERLEEK’s price suffered a sharp decline.

Rockstar publicly acknowledged the leaks on Aug. 26. The gaming giant described the situation as “heartbreaking”. 

The company filed DMCA subpoena applications seeking identifying information from Microsoft and Discord,
