RippleX Head of Product Jazzi Cooper has revealed plans for a major technological upgrade to xrpld 3.3.0. According to Cooper, the XRPL network has already proven its ability to scale digital assets, and its infrastructure is now entering a phase of real-world global adoption — from cross-border payments and trading to collateral management and instant settlement.

The official release of the upgrade package is scheduled for next week. In accordance with the network’s standard process, the new features will be activated after they have been reviewed and approved by independent community validators.

The upcoming upgrade package includes five fundamental amendments, now consolidated into a single release:

Complete technical specifications and documentation have already been published on Ripple’s open-source platform. Over the coming weeks, the Ripple team will also release a series of in-depth technical analyses and security reports to support seamless code integration.

Why the upcoming upgrade will change XRP forever

This set of amendments removes the technical and legal dead ends that have prevented traditional financial giants from entering public blockchains for years.

The combination of private balances with zero disclosure and flexible role-based access will allow banks to separate employee permissions and protect commercially sensitive information while remaining fully compliant through dedicated access gateways for auditors and regulators.

In practice, this will enable secure institutional delivery-versus-payment settlements, or DvP, in which sequences of up to eight transactions are executed atomically under an all-or-nothing principle.

At the same time, blockchain technology will become less complicated for end users. The fee-sponsorship option will allow major institutions to pay network fees on behalf of their clients, eliminating the need for ordinary users to purchase and hold the native XRP token.

Combined with the ability to update token parameters dynamically in response to new legal requirements, the upgrade could transform XRPL into a primary infrastructure platform for the compliant circulation of tokenized capital.
