Internet Computer [ICP] extended its transaction lead over Solana [SOL], with its cumulative count surpassing 308 billion.
Solana followed with approximately 133 billion transactions, according to Chainspect’s tracked totals. However, Internet Computer’s lead in transaction activity offered little relief for its native token, which remained under selling pressure.
How did Internet Computer outperform Solana?
Internet Computer led Chainspect’s weekly transaction throughput rankings, overtaking Solana after several weeks in second place.
The network averaged approximately 2,323 transactions per second (TPS), ahead of Solana’s 1,896 TPS over the same period.
Separately, Chainspect reported that Internet Computer processed 256.5 million transactions in one day, averaging 2,969 TPS. That marked its busiest day of the quarter.

This was hardly an isolated lead. Internet Computer had also outpaced Solana in previous daily and monthly transaction rankings. The figures pointed to substantial processing activity. However, transaction counts alone could not establish the number of users or value transferred.
Are more addresses using Internet Computer?
Alongside higher throughput, Internet Computer recorded a rebound in Daily Active Addresses. Santiment reported an increase from approximately 2,800 to 3,800 addresses.
Activity then jumped to around 7,400 on the 21st of October before retreating, subsequently averaging approximately 3,500.

The rebound suggested stronger participation compared with recent lows, although activity remained uneven and substantially below earlier peaks.
Even so, Active Addresses did not necessarily represent distinct users or demonstrate an increase in economic activity. For ICP holders, the missing piece remained stronger token demand.
Why is ICP’s price still struggling?
Despite the network activity, ICP’s price remained within a descending channel after failing to hold $3.50 two weeks earlier. The decline took the token to a low of $2.50.
The MACD also moved deeper into negative territory over two consecutive weeks, reinforcing the bearish momentum.

Together, the channel and MACD suggested that sellers retained control despite the improvement in network activity. The divergence showed that higher throughput had yet to coincide with a sustained price recovery.
If selling persisted, $2.30 could become the next support test. A move out of the descending channel would offer an early sign that bearish pressure might be easing.
Final Summary
- Internet Computer led the weekly throughput comparison, averaging 2,323 TPS against Solana’s 1,896 TPS.
- Active Addresses rebounded, but ICP remained under pressure, leaving $2.30 as a potential downside support.
